Holandská nová architektura, typografie, fotografie
Vícejazyčná publikace se soustředí na problematiku avantgardní typografie. Využívá k tomu tvorby výjimečné umělecké osobnosti – nizozemského designéra, fotografa a filmaře Paula Schuitemy, již zasazuje do rámce dobových tendencí a proudů pozorovaných na území širší střední Evropy. Především ale přináší překlad jeho klíčové stati a připomíná přirozená sepětí československé a holandské avantgardy meziválečného období.
Paul Schuitema je jednou z důležitých a formativních osobností evropského prostředí 1. poloviny 20. století. Proslul nejen jako praktik, ale také teoretik, entreprenér a spojovatel kulturních i sociálních prostředí. Památná je jeho cesta do Československa, které navštívil v roce 1936. Schuitema tehdy přijel na pozvání Františka Kalivody, aby v Brně a Praze přednášel o Nové fotografii, využití fotografie v grafickém designu a o holandské filmové avantgardě. V působivém grafickém řešení publikace zaznívají ozvuky historické revoluce, přičemž je testována její udržitelnost.

Since its founding in 1981, New York-based studio Diller Scofidio + Renfro (DS+R) has designed some of the world’s most revered civic spaces and cultural institutions. Their practice covers architecture, urban design, installation art, performance, digital media, and print.
From the renowned High Line in New York City to the upcoming V&A East Storehouse in London to some of their earliest projects like the Blur building designed for the 2002 Swiss Expo, DS+R explores alternative strategies in space-making that engage and surprise on a global scale.
Designed by DS+R as a pair of structurally conjoined volumes, this monograph invites readers to bridge different modes of production and reconsider the limits of architecture. The unique binding allows each volume to be read individually or in parallel by unfolding the book at the spine. Special crossover layouts link the two volumes with shared obsessions.
The monograph features layouts by design consultancy 2x4, with photography by Iwan Baan and Matthew Monteith amongst other photographers. Slavné vily Prahy 6 - Střešovice
Publikace připravená nakladatelstvím FOIBOS BOOKS Slavné vily Prahy 6 – Střešovice představuje další segment moderní vilové zástavby, soustředěný po Osadě Baba, Hanspaulce a Bubenči na jednu významnou část Prahy 6 – Střešovice. Tato bezesporu obdivuhodná enkláva rezidenčního bydlení má zároveň jednu specifickou vlastnost svého vývoje, která je dána nejenom základní úvahou, kdy od samotného začátku byla v plánech města určena pro rezidenční bydlení, ale především vypsanou soutěží na zahradní město, jejíž výsledky byly následně uvedeny v život regulačními plány a skvělou architekturou. To ale nebyla jediná specifická vlastnost tohoto území. Na rozdíl od Hanspaulky, či především Bubenče, vyznačující se převahou okázalých vilových objektů, bylo záměrem vytvořit zde zahradní město, složené z domků, dvojdomků či řadových domů nikoli luxusního, okázalého formátu, ale v principu dvou-, tří- a čtyřpokojových, navíc budované stavebními družstvy, a tudíž dostupné především úřednické vrstvě zaměstnanců státních či veřejných institucí. Právě poměrně přísná pravidla, jež do jisté míry kopírovala takto zakládané útvary v zahraničí podle teorie a praxe Ebenezera Howarda, vtiskla celé čtvrti nezaměnitelný charakter, jejž v jiných, takto koncipovaných čtvrtích nenajdeme. O celé soutěži a výstavbě z toho vzniklých domů se čtenář dočte velmi podrobně v následujících kapitolách. I přes tuto závažnou část stavebního vývoje katastrálního území Střešovic nelze opominout individuální vilovou zástavbu, která, ostatně jako i v jiných čtvrtích Prahy 6, přináší důležité informace nejenom o významných či někdy méně známých až neznámých architektech, ale především zajímavá curricula stavebníků, jež jsou mnohdy vyloženě objevná. Tyto úctyhodné osobnostní profily, v převážné většině prvorepublikové, jsou součástí jednotlivých hesel, věnovaných známým, ale i méně známým stavbám a tvoří stěžejní část knihy. Kniha pochopitelně není soupisem, což ani nemůže být, vzhledem k počtu vil, jež se v daném katastru nacházejí. Jsou však vybrané většinou podle známých jmen architektů a s ohledem na urbanistické, ale také kulturní či politické souvislosti. Sluší se připomenout, že se ve Střešovicích nacházejí ikonické stavby, ke kterým patří dnes již světoznámá architektura Müllerovy vily od Adolfa Loose a Karla Lhoty, stejně jako Traubova vila od neméně slavného architekta Bruno Paula.

Katedrála sv. Víta v Praze, Notre-Dame v Paříži, Votivní kostel ve Vídni či jiný majestátní chrám některé z evropských metropolí jsou pro většinu z nás ztělesněním opravdového středověku. Málokdo ví, že se ve skutečnosti často jedná o architekturu z 19. století nebo o budovy v tomto období zásadně přestavěné. Vzhled těchto památek je, spíše než svědectvím o předmoderní minulosti, výsledkem romantických idealizací, nacionalistických sporů a ekonomických zájmů 19. století.

Navrhování staveb
Překlad 43. německého vydání světoznámé příručky o zásadách navrhování staveb pro architekty, projektanty a další profese odborníků činných ve výstavbě, která obsahuje vyčerpávající podklady pro jejich návrh od dispozičního řešení až po technické detaily. Kromě občanských budov se kniha věnuje stavbám pro výrobu, restauracím, hotelům, nemocnicím a dalším. Publikace vychází z německých norem DIN, přesto je jedinečným podkladem pro navrhování staveb i u nás.
Ernst Neufert poprvé publikoval knihu Navrhování staveb již v dubnu roku 1936. Kniha se v průběhu následujících desetiletí stala stěžejním dílem celosvětové architektonické tvorby a obecně uznávaným podkladem pro navrhování budov. Je odkazována ve velkém množství architektonické literatury a v dnešní době je s drobnými úpravami přeložena do osmnácti jazyků.
Původní obsah knihy od Ernesta Neuferta je i po jeho smrti stále aktualizován profesorem Johannesem Kisterem s podporou nadace Neufert-Stiftung, ve spolupráci s Ing. Mathiasem Brockhausem, Ing. Matthiasem Lohmannem a Ing. Patricií Merkelovou.
Ženy v architektuře/ Women in Architecture
Publikace představuje téma žen v architektuře druhé poloviny 20. století jak z hlediska dějin architektury, tak v mezioborových souvislostech z pohledu sociologie, obecných dějin a genderových studií. Věnuje se okolnostem praxe a vzdělání architektek, propojení profesního a rodinného života, ale i reflexi a uznání práce architektek a principům historiografie oboru nahlíženým optikou genderové perspektivy. Odborné studie v knize doplňuje komentovaná obrazová příloha, která představuje široké spektrum děl a aktivit žen činných v architektonické sféře – od projektové a designérské činnosti přes práci výzkumnou, teoretickou, historiografickou, kurátorskou či pedagogickou až po kritiku a propagaci architektury. Součástí publikace je také přehled příjmení žen, jejichž tvůrčí dráhy se náš výzkum dotkl. Jeho smyslem je upozornit na téma proměn ženských příjmení znesnadňující proces atribucí. Zároveň je tento seznam důležitou pomůckou pro sledování kontinuity práce zmíněných tvůrkyň.
The publication presents the topic of women in architecture in the second half of the 20th century from the point of view of architectural history, as well as in an interdisciplinary context from the perspective of sociology, general history and gender studies. It focuses on the circumstances of the practice and education of women architects, the interconnection of professional and family life, as well as the reflection and recognition of the work of women architects and the principles of the historiography of the field viewed through a gender perspective. The book's expert studies are complemented by an annotated pictorial appendix, which presents a wide range of works and activities of women active in the architectural sphere - from project and design work through research, theoretical, historiographic, curatorial or pedagogical work to criticism and promotion of architecture. The publication also includes a list of surnames of women whose creative careers have been touched by our research.
Opravy historických staveb II
První díl knihy Opravy historických staveb s podtitulem Báje, mýty a realita, který vyšel roce 2021, měl být podkladem pro uvážený přístup k opravám historických staveb. Chtěli jsme pomoci těm, kteří opravují staré domy, s poznáním historických konstrukcí a řemeslných postupů a upozornit na odlišnosti starého stavitelství a moderních technologií.
Druhý díl je věnován převážně klenbám, které představují vrchol architektury a stavitelského umění, současně chceme ukázat, že stavitelské umění patří k základům kultury a je starší než psaná historie – jeho poznávání může být objevem dávno ztracené Atlantidy. Oba díly mají stejnou úpravu, jsou vzájemně propojeny, mají společné rejstříky a soupis využité a doporučené literatury. Ve druhém díle jsou odkazy na ilustrace i texty 1. dílu.

Tyto a mnohé další otázky si kladou autoři monografie Od architektury k interpretaci, jež je pátou, a tedy závěrečnou publikací ze série věnující se teorii architektury, která vznikla pod záštitou profesora Jiřího Kroupy a Semináře dějin umění Masarykovy univerzity. Kniha vychází ze stejnojmenného workshopu konaného ve dnech 7.—8. června 2024, věnovaného interpretaci architektury a způsobům její (re)prezentace. Nad touto problematikou se autoři zamýšlejí z hlediska metodologie či terminologického vymezení, ale věnují se i dalším aspektům přinášejícím recentní pohled na stav bádání v této oblasti. Kromě teorie je zde zohledněn také praktický úhel pohledu zahrnující nejrůznější média, skrze něž lze architekturu interpretovat, jako jsou malba, kresba, grafika a fotografie, případně také dobové texty jako ego-dokumenty či filozofické, náboženské a teoretické spisy.

Marina Abramovic & Ulay: No Predicted End
Two of the most iconic performance artists collaborated for 17 years. This book covers the final meeting between Marina Abramovic and Ulay after year-long conflict.
Marina Abramovic and Ulay met on November 30, 1975, their shared birthday, and became both partners and artistic collaborators. Together they created groundbreaking performances such as Relations in Space, in which they collided head-on for over an hour, Rest Energy, in which they balanced a bow with the arrowhead aimed at Marina's heart, and Night-sea Crossing, in which they sat in silence facing each other for seven hours, repeated 22 times. Their last performance in 1988 consisted of a 4,000 km walk from opposite ends of the Great Wall of China, not to get married, as planned, but to get divorced. After a touching reunion in The Artist is Present in 2010 and a subsequent conflict over rights, they met one last time, shortly before Ulay's death, for a conversation about their love and artistic legacy. This meeting became a final work of art, where the truth behind the masks was explored, not through pain, but in the light of death.
Louisiana Channel filmed their conversation and it has resulted in a richly illustrated book. The book has been selected a Best Danish Book Design of the year.

Book of Games
Carsten Höller invites readers to disrupt their daily lives with 336 mind-expanding diversions. They can be played alone, in pairs or in teams, in the street, in bed, on a train, wherever. No props or materials are needed. Just one body, all senses and a willingness to try something new, that's possibly conceptually or physically challenging, but guaranteed to entertain and to widen the player's horizons.
Some games are more obviously daring than others - unexpectedly shouting 'bang!' when your driver's reversing into a parking space is sure to elicit a reaction - but that's absolutely the point. Other games involve covertly dropping strange phrases into conversation, executing somersaults (without practice), or plucking hairs from your opponent's head while they stay poker-faced.
Höller's scientific professional background informs his keenness to create what he calls Influential Environments. He wants to tease the brain while testing its limitations, through activity and passivity, agency and inertia. He conceived his first game with a group of friends in 1992, during a tedious dinner after an exhibition opening. Since then, he has collected and invented ideas, inspired by friends, life, the Surrealists, and Arthur Rimbaud. All games are illustrated with commissioned or pre-existing artworks and photographs. We find portraits by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, August Sander, and Nan Goldin next to paintings by Salvador Dali; snapshots of Joseph Beuys plus son and Donna Haraway plus dog next to appointed pieces by Christine Sun Kim and Anri Sala; film stills by Chantal Akerman, extracts from Shakespeare as well as treasures from Höller's personal archive-and his mother's.

Vily nad bratislavským starým mestom
Kniha o architektúre a životnom štýle vo vilovej časti Bratislavy obsahuje viac ako 700 vilových domov na Hradnom vrchu, na Slavíne, na Kalvárii a v priľahlom Horskom parku, ale aj v širšom okolí centra mesta. Autori v krátkych historických exkurzoch zachytávajú ich podobu od stredoveku, keď tam ešte boli vinohrady, poľovné revíry a pastviny, neskôr výletné reštaurácie a hostince. Tieto lokality sa postupne menili na obytné štvrte lepšie situovaných Bratislavčanov – od letných sídiel talianskeho typu v polovici 19. storočia cez nemecko-maďarskú romantizujúcu a eklektickú zástavbu v okolí Palisád na prelome 19. a 20. storočia až po stavebný rozmach za prvej Československej republiky a súčasnú modernú vilovú architektúru. Čitateľ sa zoznámi s najvýznamnejšími projektantmi a staviteľmi, ale aj s pôvodnými i neskoršími majiteľmi a obyvateľmi týchto neraz výnimočných architektonických objektov dotvárajúcich dnešnú siluetu Bratislavy.
