Az ikonfestészet lexikona
Ruzsa György Az ikonfestészet lexikona című kötete hiánypótló szakmunka, amelyben részletesen megtalálhatjuk az ikonokkal kapcsolatos orosz és görög alapfogalmak magyarázatát. A szerző művében arra törekszik, hogy lexikonja ne legyen száraz és unalmas olvasmány, ugyanakkor a szakszerűség kívánalmainak is megfeleljen. Magát az ikont így definiálja: "Tágabb értelemben bizánci jellegű szentkép, szűkebb értelemben a keleti kereszténység táblaképe", vagyis olyan kép, amelyet elsősorban fatáblára festettek. Teológiai szerepére is kitér, így például hangsúlyozza, hogy az ikon az emberi test feltámadás utáni, megdicsőült állapotát elővételezi, és a szentek arcát és alakját lelkies finomsággal mutatja be. A lexikon szócikkei között egy-egy hosszabb tanulmányt is találunk, amely például azt tárgyalja, hogyan inspirálta az ikon a 19. és 20. századi prózaírókat, köztük Makszim Gorkijt, aki ,"Inasévek" című művében egy ikonfestő műhelyt is bemutat. A szerző szomorú érdekességként arról is ír, hogy a kommunizmus éveiben kiadott ,"Kis szovjet enciklopédia" miként definiálta az ikont: ,"A keresztény istenek (sic!) és szentek ábrázolásának egyházi megnevezése", amely ,"zavarja a dolgozók elmaradott rétegeit a szocia lizmus építésében". Ez alapján érthető, miért várt a sztálini terror időszakában az ikonokkal foglalkozó tudósokra, köztük papokra szomorú sors, szibériai rabság és kivégzés. Közülük többről hosszabb tanulmányt találhatunk a kötetben, de jó néhány jelentős ikonfestő (Andrej Rubljov, Feofan Grek, Gyionyiszij stb.) munkásságáról is; részletes elemzés olvasható például Andrej Rubljov Ószövetségi Szentháromság-ikonjáról, amelynek láttán a mártírhalált halt Pavel Florenszkij atya, teológus így kiáltott fel: ,"Rubljov Szentháromsága létezik, tehát létezik Isten!" A kötetet mintegy 180 színes fotó teszi szemléletessé.

Mosó Masa és barátai
F. Györffy Anna (1915-2006) az elmúlt hatvan év egyik legsokoldalúbb gyermekkönyv-illusztrátora volt. Több generáció nőtt fel jellegzetes stílusú könyv- és diafilm-illusztrációin, amelyek közül legismertebbek (Mosó Masa mosodája, Pöttyös Panni, Hófehérke és a hét törpe, Hamupipőke, Óvoda az őserdőben) máig népszerűek.
F. Györffy Anna a Kolozsvár melletti Szucságban született. Az erdélyi, később pedig a hosszabb hollandiai utazások olyan életre szóló élményt jelentettek számára, amelyből tervezőként és meseillusztrátorként egyaránt sok inspirációt merített. Már gyermekkorában kitűnt rajztehetségével, amelyet egyrészt néprajz5tudós édesapjától, Györffy Istvántól és az ő szűrszabó felmenőitől, másrészt kivételes kézügyességgel rendelkező édesanyjától, Papp Annától örökölt. Kamaszkorában édesapja ösztönzésére kezdte tanulmányozni a paraszti viseletet és ornamentikát, neki köszönhette első néprajzi tárgyú illusztrációs megbízásait is.
1933-1935 között az Iparrajziskolában ruhatervezést, 1936-tól Molnár C. Páltól alakrajzot tanult. A magyar népművészetből és az art decóból inspirációt merítő divatterveire a magyaros ruhamozgalom népszerűsítői és a divatújságok is felfigyeltek. 1935-ben, húszévesen nyert felvételt a Goldberger textilgyárba és 1945-ig állt a vállalat alkalmazásában. A gyár iparművészként tervezett textilmintát, kendőt, ruhát és plakátot. Az 1940-es évek végétől selyemfestéssel kísérletezett, divat- és kerámiatárgyakat tervezett.
A kommunista hatalom által kevésbé ellenőrzött gyermekirodalom nemcsak a félreállított íróknak, költőknek biztosított menedéket és megélhetést az ötvenes évektől, de olyan tehetséges képző- és iparművészeknek is illusztrációs munkát adott, mint például Hincz Gyula, Kass János, K. Lukáts Kató, Reich Károly, Róna Emy, Szántó Piroska, Zórád Ernő és Würtz Ádám. Köztük volt F. Györffy Anna is, aki 1952-1988 között több száz, különböző technikájú illusztrációt készített könyvek, diafilmek, gyermek- és képeslapok részére.
Pályája során a magyar gyermekirodalom legjelentősebb szerzőinek műveit illusztrálta.
