It includes several previously unpublished buildings and places the powerhouse couple’s architectural work alongside their widely known designs in furniture, exhibitions, and film, showing how they carried consistent design principles across different disciplines.
Charles (1907-1978) and Ray (1912-1988) Eames’s residential architecture is defined by their human-centered approach to modernism. Their work demonstrates a deep commitment to structural clarity, user-centered functionality, and the intelligent use of prefabrication. Rather than focusing purely on aesthetics, the Eameses approached architecture as a form of problem-solving, aiming to create flexible systems that offered a background for life and work in all its expressions.
This book presents all eight houses they designed between 1945 and 1955, featuring sketches, drawings, letters, and photographs – many of which have never been published before – alongside newly produced diagrams and models that offer further insight into their design process.
The book is organized into six chapters, one of which is entirely dedicated to Case Study House No. 8 with newly commissioned photography, together with a wealth of materials from the archives of the Eames Office – many of which are published here for the first time. The book further contextualizes the couple's thinking about domestic living in related fields such as furniture, toy, textile, and graphic design, anchoring the house projects within their work at large.
The book accompanies an exhibition in Milan in April 2026 that is planned to travel internationally.
My Morandi
The Italian painter Giorgio Morandi is recounted as a friend and artist in this memoir by Luigi Magnani, an art historian and devoted collector of Morandi's work.
One of the most beloved and critically acclaimed artists of the twentieth century, Giorgio Morandi painted serial and permutational arrangements of everyday objects that elevated the quotidian into the sublime. In 1940, he struck up a decades-long friendship with entrepreneur, musicologist, art historian, and collector Luigi Magnani.
My Morandi is the first full-length English translation of Magnani's memoir reflecting on his bond with the artist and his long-standing academic and personal interest in Morandi's paintings. In My Morandi, Magnani considers the artist's aloofness from artistic trends and his dedication to painting for a small, discerning audience. He locates Morandi within the art-historical canon as well as recounts their artistic and intellectual kinship, which led to a unique, rich collection of Morandi's work at Magnani's villa in Mamiano, now the Magnani Rocca Foundation. Magnani's personal collection of Morandi's work was on view at David Zwirner, New York, in 2025. Originally published in 1982 in Italian, this memoir is accompanied by a new preface by Alice Ensabella and includes an introduction by Stefano Roffi, director of the Magnani Rocca Foundation.

Kniha mapuje tridsať rokov fungovania architektonického ateliéru GFI – jednej z najvýraznejších a najproduktívnejších architektonických kancelárií na Slovensku. GFI sa za tri desaťročia podieľalo na viacerých ikonických stavbách súčasného Slovenska. Navrhlo veľkú časť bratislavského Downtownu vrátane prvého slovenského mrakodrapu Eurovea Tower. Medzi významné bratislavské realizácie patrí napr. aj rozšírenie nákupného centra Eurovea, polyfunkčný komplex Klingerka, administratívne budovy na Pribinovej 40 a Landererovej 12, objekt Panorama Business II či polyfunkčný súbor Downtown Yards. Vykřičená čtvrt Yoshiwara byla v období Edo považována za společenské centrum a místo kulturní revoluce. Umělci jako Utamaro, Hokusai a Kunisada otevřeli dveře rozkoše a nechali okolní svět nahlédnout za barevné zástěny čajoven. Tradiční kurtizány oiran a tayu předznamenaly zjevení v podobě gejš a jejich půvabné, zvukomalebné výrazovosti.
Období Edo, z něhož dnešní umělecké Japonsko stále čerpá, zanechalo důležitou stopu v jeho kulturní paměti a jedinečný umělecký styl ukiyo ovlivnil umělce i mimo asijský kontinent, zejména v Evropě. The present monograph is the first Czech language study to provide comprehensive information about jewellery in China. Lieb jelentős munkái még a monoki Andrássy-kastély, a tőketerebesi pálos rendi templom és a taktabáji református templom fal- és mennyezetképei az 1770-es, 1780-as évekből.
