Oloid
This monograph shows how the oloid, a timelessly beautiful geometric body, serves today more than ever as a source of inspiration and functional component in the visual arts and design, in technology and research, in architecture, philosophy, and music.
In 1929, the sculptor, inventor and researcher Paul Schatz (1898-1971) discovered the geometric form of the oloid. Schatz' lifework was characterized by this fundamentally new body, which emerged from movement, for which he sought and found new and pioneering applications for a number of decades. This monograph, rich in images and generally understandable, shows how today, more than ever, the timelessly beautiful oloid serves as a source of inspiration and a functional element.
This is true for the fine arts and design, in technology and research, in architecture, philosophy or music. Close aesthetic references to the contemporaneous sculptures of Naum Gabo, Constantin Brancusi, or Henry Moore are just as surprising as current homages to Paul Schatz by artists such as Ólafur Eliasson. Opevnění měst se svými věžemi, branami, ochozy a příkopy patřila k hlavním symbolům evropského středověku. Dnes jsou podobně jako hrady a jejich zříceniny významným pramenem pro badatele rady oboru, těší se však také zájmu široké veřejnosti. Mnohde můžeme obdivovat různě rozsáhlé pozůstatky, málo však není ani mest a městeček, kde si hradby uchovaly téměř středověkou podobu a atmosféru. Po trojdílné knize Středověká opevnění českých mest (Národní památkový ústav, Praha 2019–2022) předkládá autor volně navazující publikaci, která se zabývá tímto tématem v rámci celé Evropy. Kniha je zaměřená především na stavebně-historický vývoj městských hradeb od raného středověku až po úsvit renesance, nemůže však chybět ani pohled na předchozí, starověká období. Divadelný ústav v spolupráci so Stanicou Žilina-Záriečie pripravili netradičnú výstavu venovanú významnému 20. výročiu založenia multifunkčného nezávislého priestoru Stanica Žilina-Záriečie. Kurátor Marek Godovič zostavil spolu s Marekom Adamovom výstavu s názvom 20 rokov cesty do Stanice, ktorý zachytáva míľniky a časové obdobia, ktoré formovali priestor staničného domčeka. Výstava je netradičná svojou formou, nakoľko vyzerá ako stolový kalendár.

Koncepcia knihy a výber textov Martina Porubjaka: Martina Ulmanová
Martin Porubjak písal veľa, veľmi dobre a o širokom okruhu tém. Z jeho textov by sa dala zostaviť kniha politických komentárov a glos, kniha osobných spomienok na zaujímavých ľudí, s ktorými sa priatelil a spolupracoval, kniha cestopisných čŕt – a samozrejme kniha, a nie jedna, o divadle. Tomu sa, azda okrem relatívne krátkeho obdobia, keď ho naplno pohltil svet praktickej politiky, venoval neprestajne po celý svoj neobyčajne produktívny profesijný život – ako dramaturg, režisér, prekladateľ, pedagóg, ale aj ako teoretik a divadelný kritik.
Divadelné predstavenie vnímal najmä ako fenomén, ktorý odzrkadľuje, komentuje, kritizuje stav spoločnosti, ktorá ho zrodila, stav konkrétnej doby a sveta, ktorý ho obklopuje. Jednoducho, aj vo vzťahu k divadlu bol plnokrvný homo politicus.
Štruktúra knihy vyrastá z tém, ktoré sa prirodzene vynárali, keď sme sa preberali mimoriadne rozsiahlym archívom autorových textov (pripojený bibliografický zoznam obsahuje viac ako 1500 položiek a napriek úsiliu zostavovateľky aj bibliografky pravdepodobne stále nie je úplný). Pritom sme dávali prednosť takým štúdiám a článkom, ktoré divadlo vnímajú v spojitosti so spoločenským a politickým dianím. V knihe sa tak vedľa seba objavujú rôzne žánre, od anekdotickej glosy cez fejtón, reportáž až po obsiahlu teatrologickú analýzu.
Nazdávame sa, že by z nej najmä generácia nastupujúcich divadelných kritikov a teoretikov mohla načerpať konkrétnu inšpiráciu, ako písať tak, aby čítanie o divadle nebolo iba pracovnou nevyhnutnosťou pre úzky okruh divadelných profesionálov, ale stalo sa vyhľadávaným potešením aj pre tých ostatných. Pre všetkých, obdarených „iba“ záujmom o divadelné umenie a intelektuálnou zvedavosťou.
