Kniha Zpětné zakreslení cesty, v níž vyprávíme příběh Činohry Národního divadla od konce roku 1989 až do roku 2015, sleduje, jak se společenské události promítaly do divadelního organismu a jevištního díla. Bruegel, Paintings
The life and times of Pieter Bruegel the Elder (c. 1526/30-1569) were marked by stark cultural conflict. He witnessed religious wars, the Duke of Alba's brutal rule as governor of the Netherlands, and the palpable effects of the Inquisition. To this day, the Flemish artist remains shrouded in mystery. We know neither where nor exactly when he was born. But while early scholarship emphasized the vernacular character of his painting and graphic work, modern research has attached greater importance to its humanistic content.
Starting out as a print designer for publisher Hieronymus Cock, Bruegel produced numerous print series that were distributed throughout Europe. These depicted vices and virtues alongside jolly peasant festivals and sweeping landscape panoramas. He then increasingly turned to painting, working for the cultural elite of Antwerp and Brussels. Rather than idealizing reality, he bravely confronted the issues of his day, addressing the horrors of religious warfare and taking a critical stand against the institution of the Church. To this end, Bruegel developed his own pictorial language of dissidence, lacing innocuous everyday scenes with subliminal statements in order to escape repercussions.
This book is derived from our XXL monograph, which saw TASCHEN undertake a comprehensive photographic survey of the artist's oeuvre. The result boasts exceptional details and reproductions, unveiling Bruegel's larger-than-life universe with unprecedented clarity. Vývoj slovenskej bábkovej hry od 19. storočia až po súčasnosť sa v tejto knihe skúma z niekoľkých strán a pohľadov. Dvadsaťtri kapitol je venovaných tak jednotlivým významným dramatickým autorom, ako aj syntetickým pohľadom na celé vývinové etapy slovenského bábkarstva. Veľkoryso poňatý prehľad zahŕňa najmä dramatické texty, no nemôže celkom obísť ani ich významné scénické predvedenia. Najmä v prípadoch, keď je autor textu zároveň jeho režisérom a daný text už v svojej písanej podobe zahŕňa množstvo pokynov konkrétnym hercom či scénickému výtvarníkovi. V plejáde autorov textov pre bábkové divadlo, ktorých predstavuje táto kniha, sa tak stretávajú tí, ktorí písali univerzálne hry, po desaťročia hrané divadlami nielen na Slovensku, s autormi, ktorých doménou ani nie je dramatická, lež epická literatúra, a svoje dramatické texty vytvárali v tesnej spolupráci s divadelnými dramaturgmi a režisérmi. Netreba zabúdať aj na to, že časť bábkarského repertoára tvoria rôzne dramatizácie pôvodne prozaických textov ľudových či umelých rozprávok. Veľkú skupinu predstavujú už spomenutí praktickí divadelníci, ktorí píšu svoje bábkové hry s presným zacielením na ich javiskovú realizáciu. Čo však neznamená, že výlet takýchto hier za hranice domáceho súboru je celkom vylúčený: príkladom môžu byť texty Divadla PIKI z Pezinka. Publikácia presne zachytáva aj najnovší vývoj bábkového divadla, ktorý smeruje k interaktivite a miešaniu nielen divadelných druhov, ale aj žánrov. Záslužným krokom je zaradenie obsiahlej kapitoly venovanej dramatickej produkcii nezávislých bábkových divadiel, ktorých premenlivá existencia je oveľa menej systematicky zdokumentovaná ako pri ich kamenných kolegoch.
