Předkládané stati tvoří sice soubor samostatných studií, přesto jsou alespoň trochu provázané – pokoušejí se z fenomenologického hlediska prozkoumat způsob, jak může skrze výtvarné dílo vyvstat zjevnost jsoucího. Sborníček vznikl na laskavý popud vydavatele, jehož si velmi vážím. Obsahuje texty, které už byly publikovány (podrobnější údaje nalezne čtenář v ediční poznámce). Protože však šlo o publikace v německém jazyce nebo v méně dostupných edicích, bude snad mít jejich nové sebrání pro čtenáře přece nějaký další užitek.

Publikace Anatomie skoku do prázdna představuje umělecká díla a realizace, které vznikly jako bezprostřední reakce na násilné potlačení pražského jara vojsky Varšavské smlouvy v roce 1968, a na následné období, kterým zmítaly jak snahy udržet otevřenou občanskou společnost, tak vést ji k opětné podřízenosti Komunistické straně a Sovětskému svazu. Vzniklá umělecká díla, která poznamenala jak invaze, smrt Jana Palacha a Jana Zajíce a nastupující normalizace. Publikace je soustředěna na léta 1966 až 1973, ve kterých je dobře vidět, jak se domácí umění emancipovalo a začalo se sebevědomě zapojovat do mezinárodních struktur umělecké scény. The Unfinished Palazzo
Abandoned unfinished and left to rot on Venice's Grand Canal, `il palazzo non finito' was once an unloved guest among the aristocrats of Venetian architecture. Yet in the 20th century it played host to three passionate and unconventional women who would take the city by storm. The staggeringly wealthy Marchesa Luisa Casati made her new home a belle epoque aesthete's fantasy and herself a living work of art; notorious British socialite Doris Castlerosse (nee Delevingne) welcomed film stars and royalty to glittering parties between the wars; and American heiress Peggy Guggenheim amassed an exquisite collection of modern art, which today draws visitors from around the world.

Viková ve své tvorbě ráda čelí nečekaným výzvám, použití nových technik se pro ni stává vždy impulzem, který posouvá její tvorbu nejen po formální stránce, ale především ji vyzývá k uchopení nových témat.
V tom zcela přirozeně navazuje na Bělu Kolářovou, s její hravou vášní pro experiment, jehož prostřednictvím vyjadřuje mnohem závažnější souvislosti, než se může na první pohled zdát.

Početní milovníci Pištěkova díla zde ale najdou i práce od počátku 60. let až do prvnícch desetiletí 21. století. Toward a Concrete Utopia
In Yugoslavia's "Third Way" architecture, Brutalism meets the fantastical
Squeezed between the two rival Cold War blocs, Yugoslav architecture consistently adhered to a modernist trajectory. As a founding nation of the Non-Aligned Movement, Yugoslavia became a major exporter of modernist architecture to Africa and the Middle East in a postcolonial world. By merging a variety of local traditions and contemporary international influences in the context of a unique Yugoslav brand of socialism, often described as the "Third Way," local architects produced a veritable "parallel universe" of modern architecture during the 45 years of the country's existence. This remarkable body of work has sparked recurrent international interest, yet a rigorous interpretative study never materialized in the United States until now.
Published in conjunction with a major exhibition on the architectural production of Yugoslavia between 1948 and 1980, this is the first publication to showcase an understudied but important body of modernist architecture. Featuring new scholarship and previously unpublished archival materials, this richly illustrated publication sheds light on key ideological concepts of Yugoslav architecture, urbanism and society by delving into the exceptional projects and key figures of the era, among them Bogdan Bogdanovic, Zoran Bojovic, Drago Galic, Janko Konstantinov, Georgi Konstantinovski, Niko Kralj, Boris Magas, Juraj Neidhardt, Joze Plecnik, Svetlana Kana Radevic, Edvard Ravnikar, Vjenceslav Richter, Milica Steric, Ivan Straus and Zlatko Ugljen.
Formal Basis of Modern Architecture
Peter Eisenman-world-famous for his Holocaust Memorial in Berlin (2005)-confronts historicism with theory and the analysis of form, whose distinguishing features he regards as the foundation of architectural composition. The architect illustrates his observations with numerous, extremely precise hand drawings. Eisenman wrote The Formal Basis of Modern Architecture, his dissertation, in 1963 at the University of Cambridge.
The dissertation was first published as a facsimile edition by Lars Muller Publishers in 2006. The original content of the publication is now available again-the book is reprinted in a smaller format. "I knew what I wanted to write," Eisenman says of the dissertation.
"An analytic work that related what I had learned to see, from Palladio to Terragni, from Raphael to Guido Reni, into some theoretical construct that would bear on modern architecture, but from the point of view of a certain autonomy of form." Hence the title of his research.
Drag & Draw
This book highlights two series of little known drawings from the 1950's, drawings where Andy Warhol first explored the controversial and for him deeply personal subject of drag. His oeuvre during the first decade of his career, before he became the god father of Pop, has proven to be enormously influential on his life's work but remains little known.
In 1953, Warhol created two unique series of drawings, quite different from his commissioned work. In one series, he developed an ensemble of spirited wome n that were derived from photographs of stage divas and ? of men in drag. He delved deeper into the art of dressing as the opposite sex with his second series, a set of portraits of men posing in high and low drag. This book considers Warhol's work and its d ebt to newly discovered photographs that his friend, photographer Otto Fenn, staged explicitly for Warhol’s purpose.
