Korb Flóris - Giergl Kálmán
Korb Flóris (1860-1930) és Giergl Kálmán (1863-1954) az elsők között közvetítették a nyugat-európai új művészi impulzusokat, s fogékonyan reagáltak a korszak meghatározó, új szerkezeteire. Művészetük a historizmus és az új áramlatok sajátos, személyes karaktert hordozó ötvözete, ami az építészetükre leginkább jellemző időállóságot, maradandó érvényességet biztosította munkáik java részének. Mindketten Németországban tanultak, majd Hauszmann budapesti irodájában találkoztak össze. A budai királyi palota együttesének kiegészítéseképpen terveik szerint alakították át József főherceg Szent György téri palotáját, s részt vettek a pesti Törvényszéki palota, a New York-palota, a Kúria megalkotásában is. 1894-ben nyitott közös irodájuk a századfordulós építészet legkitűnőbb műhelyei közé tartozott. Számos kórházi együttest terveztek, ismertebb épületeik Klotild főhercegasszony két bérpalotája és a Zeneakadémia.

White: Insights into Japanese Design Philosophy
