King Kong
The 2005 book King Kong: The History of a Movie Icon from Fay Wray to Peter Jackson covered the six King Kong movies that had been produced up at that time: King Kong (1933), The Son of Kong (1933), King Kong Vs. Godzilla (1962), King Kong Escapes (1967), King Kong (1976), and King Kong Lives (1986), providing in-depth chapters chronicling the conception, production, release, and legacy of each film.The book also contained chapters on other Kong-related projects, as well as a brief preview of Peter Jackson’s 2005 King Kong remake, which had not yet opened at the time of the book’s publication and so could not be examined in depth. Since the book’s publication, Jackson’s film was released and two additional Kong films have been produced: 2017’s Kong: Skull Island and 2021’s Godzilla Vs. Kong. There has also been a major Broadway musical version of the story, two new animated series, and a number of novels, comic books, and graphic novels. There is also a new film on the way: Godzilla Vs. Kong 2, which is currently slated for release in 2025.With so much new Kong material to cover and a new Kong film on the way, this expanded and updated version of the book is the most complete, thorough, and comprehensive history of the cinematic King Kong possible.
Vila Lanna. Příběh domu a lidí
Vila Lanna je zřejmě nejstarší dochovanou neorenesanční stavbou v Praze. Její stavitel Vojtěch Lanna mladší ji užíval od počátku 70. let 19. století do roku 1909. Jeho syn ji prodal v roce 1913 bubenečskému starostovi Aloisi Potůčkovi. Od Potůčkovy rodiny ji získal karlínský podnikatel v oboru minerálních olejů Vojtěch Zikmund. Přestože byla vila Lanna už za tzv. první republiky pod částečným památkovým dohledem a několikrát prošla renovací, její další osudy i majitelé ve 20. století zůstávali dlouhou dobu téměř neznámí. V průběhu let získala vila podle svých vlastníků i nájemníků - zvučných i méně známých jmen - řadu přídomků: vila Lanna či Lannova vila, vila generála Pellé, vila generála Mittelhausera, Vila Valdštejn (Villa Waldstein) anebo Valdštejnský palác (Palais Waldstein), podle Adrienny Tůmové, provdané Waldstein-Wartenbergové. Dokonce byla po určitou dobu známa jako Polská vila, protože zde krátce po skončení druhé světové války sídlil polský konzulát. Nakonec se opět vrátila k původnímu označení vila Lanna, i když současnými zaměstnanci Akademie věd České republiky je familiárně nazývána jen jako "Lannovka". Vydejme se po stopách vily Lanna a objevme, že není jen výjimečným architektonickým skvostem, ale také významným dějinným symbolem Prahy i tohoto státu, s jehož osudy se několikrát protnula.

Kniha Pamäť miesta odkrýva v dvanástich kapitolách vzťah umeleckej tvorby a konkrétneho priestoru. Na príklade nezávislého divadla približuje ako historická budova bývalej ZŠ Jesenského v centre Bratislavy vstúpila nielen do jeho tvorby. Rozprávanie dopĺňajú fragmenty príbehu samotnej architektúry a spomienky jej bývalých žiakov. Okrem známeho reliéfu R. Kühmayera dokumentuje súčasné umelecké intervencie a tvorbu autorov, ktorí v budove pôsobili v posledných rokoch. Raphael (1483–1520) is considered the most important artist of the Italian High Renaissance alongside Michelangelo and Leonardo.
