Předkládaná publikace se zaobírá reklamou a hlavně reklamním prvorepublikovým plakátem. Zahrnuje meziválečný reklamní plakát firmy Baťa, ateliéru Rotter, nakladatelství Melantrich, návrhy vývěsních štítů, ...Tato publikace soustřeďuje prvorepublikové reklamní plakáty, z kterých je cítit nostalgie starých časů. Tříděny jsou podle obsahu do tematických celků, jako je drogerie a parfumerie, potravinářství, léčiva, cestování, spoření, technika a zvláštní kapitolu tvoří reklama na alkohol. Následuje ukázka plakátů těžko zařaditelných. Plakáty firmy Baťa tvoří jednu malou skupinku, stejně jako vývěsní štíty pro živnostníky, dále účtenky a faktury. Drobnou zajímavostí jsou reklamy umístěné na zadní straně skládanky s pohádkou pro děti. Převážná část plakátů pokrývá období první poloviny dvacátého století, některé doprovází německý jazyk. Plakáty jsou reprodukovány v dochovaném stavu, bez retuší a zahlazení stopy po poškození (složení či natržení).Kolovrz, uvedený v názvu publikace, představoval mast, kvalitní druh vazelíny, která dokázala umlčet skřípání kol u všech vozíků, trakařů, koleček a žebřiňáků a odhlučnit i řetěz u bicyklu. Dobový plakátek zobrazoval ruku s nataženým ukazováčkem, na jehož konci dřepěl bobek maziva uloveného z plechové krabičky s nápisem: “Na vrzání kolovrz”. Kolovrz byl ojedinělý, protože běžnější prostředek se stejným účinkem se jmenoval kolomaz.

The First World War in Colour
The devastating events of the First World War were captured in myriad photographs on all sides of the front.
