PhDr. Lev Borský, narozený v roce 1883, byl českým novinářem a politikem, předním zastáncem české samostatnosti. Za první světové války se zúčastnil domácího a zahraničního odboje, následně byl prvním velvyslancem ČSR v Římě. Po návratu do vlasti ostře kritizoval politiku T. G. Masaryka a Edvarda Beneše, působil jako žurnalista i jako profesor diplomatiky. Za protektorátu se mu stal osudným jeho židovský původ: zemřel v roce 1944 v Osvětimi.

Predložená kniha analyzuje diela autorov, akými boli Thomas More, Tommaso Campanella, Francis Bacon, Henri de Saint-Simon, Charles Fourier či Robert Owen, ale aj zabudnutých mien ako Étienne-Gabriel Morelly, Gabriel Bonnot de Mably, Gracchus Babeuf, Etienne Cabet, Robert de Lamennais, s rozšírením na slovanský (ruský, český a slovenský utopizmus (Gercen, Belinskij, Bolzano, Štúr).
Kniha je rozdelená do troch častí: prvá skúma utópiu encyklopedicky, druhá časť sú samotné dejiny utópií a tretia, teoreticko-praktická časť skúma utópiu ako filozofický argument pre sociálno-politickú prax vo vedeckom a racionálnom uvažovaní o budúcnosti ľudstva.

Autor na základě rozsáhlého výzkumu v archivech několika zemí a komunikace s očitými svědky holokaustu předkládá drtivou zprávu o spletité cestě informací o táboru Auschwitz na Západ a o tom, jak na ně Západ reagoval, či přesněji řečeno nereagoval. Směs nezájmu, úřednického šlendriánu a alibismu nacistům umožnila realizovat plán na vyhlazení Židů prakticky nerušeně po několik let. Pandémia COVID 19 v dnešnej dobe vyvolala zvýšený záujem o otázky nebezpečenstva hroziaceho nám zo strany najrôznejších infekčných onemocnení a vírusov. Tento záujem je úplne opodstatnený, lebo v minulosti epidémie zabili viac ľudí ako vojny. Keď sa pozrieme do histórie ľudstva zistíme, že mnohé udalosti sa stali úplné inak ako nám ich prekladá povrchná oficiálne historiografia. Epidémie mali obrovský vplyv na históriu ľudstva. Závisel od nich rozkvet i zánik celých civilizácii. Vyhladili populácie celých kontinentov. Spôsobili zánik ríši Mayov, Aztékov a Inkov. Osýpky a kiahne v minulosti masovo vraždili. A nebezpečenstvo stále pretrváva. Objavila sa nielen ebola, ale aj malária, týfus i žltá zimnica sú stále tu. Stále viac sa šíria nielen sa nakazené komáre ale aj zákerné kliešte. Ani hlodavce pri šírení nemocí nemožno podceňovať. Ani s boreliózou sme si stále neporadili. Mikróby sa nepredvídateľne a rýchlo prispôsobujú . Čo nás ešte čaká?

Was World War II really the `Good War'? In the years since the declaration of peace in 1945 many myths have sprung up around the conflict in the victorious nations. In this book, Peter Hitchens deconstructs the many fables which have become associated with the narrative of the `Good War'. Whilst not criticising or doubting the need for war against Nazi Germany at some stage, Hitchens does query whether September 1939 was the right moment, or the independence of Poland the right issue.
