70 rokov Múzea SNP v Banskej Bystrici
V dejinách Slovenska nie je veľa príkladov, keď sme sa tak jednoznačne dokázali postaviť nepriateľovi pri obrane vlastného územia, ako v Slovenskom národnom povstaní v roku 1944. Všetkým, ktorí sa doňho zapojili, išlo o život, no našli odvahu povstať, aj keď vedeli, že sa nevrátia späť. Je preto našou povinnosťou i zodpovednosťou uchovať pamiatku na týchto ľudí a ich skutky.
Múzeum Slovenského národného povstania v Banskej Bystrici sa v roku 1955 stalo tým pomyselným správcom pamäte o Povstaní na Slovensku z roku 1944. Vznikalo a formovalo sa v meniacom sa kultúrno-politickom prostredí, a tak sa menili aj ciele, ktoré chcelo dosiahnuť. Medzi tie najdôležitejšie bezpochyby patrilo budovanie zbierkového fondu a s tým spojené zberateľské nadšenie na začiatku, ktoré smerovalo k novým priestorom múzea v monumentálnom Pamätníku SNP, až po snahu získať si a udržať návštevníkov a priaznivcov v dynamicky sa rozvíjajúcom prostredí za posledných tridsať rokov.
Oslobodzovanie Slovenska
Oslobodzovanie územia Slovenska prebiehalo od septembra 1944 do mája 1945, presnejšie 226 dní. Prvou oslobodenou obcou bola 21. septembra 1944 obec Kalinov a poslednou 3. mája 1945 obec Makov spolu s obcami Klokočov a Korňa. Oslobodzovanie Slovenska sa uskutočnilo v dvoch etapách prostredníctvom šiestich strategických útočných operácií ČA, ktorých ťažisko ležalo mimo územia Slovenska. Okrem týchto šiestich útočných operácií boli uskutočnené štyri čiastkové operácie sovietskych vojsk, ktoré prebiehali iba na území Slovenska, a to Východoslovenská, Stredoslovenská, Komárňanská a Banskobystrická.
Kniha chronologicky opisuje priebeh jednotlivých strategických útočných operácií, zloženie frontov, armád a ďalších bojových zväzkov na obidvoch stranách. Dozviete sa mená veliteľov a dočítate sa o výsledkoch každej útočnej operácie. Za každou kapitolou sú zvýraznené najdôležitejšie udalosti uskutočnené počas konkrétnej útočnej operácie a vojenské pamiatky, ktoré jej sú venované. Autor sa zameral iba na pamätníky, na ktorých je umiestnená ťažká bojová technika a iné zaujímavé artefakty z obdobia 2. svetovej vojny. Samostatná kapitola sa venuje padlým vojakom, vojnovým hrobom a cintorínom na Slovensku. Kniha je doplnená množstvom zaujímavých fotografií, dokumentov a máp.

Publikace Partyzánské otazníky aneb co ukryla válka se soustřeďuje na vyvrcholení partyzánské činnosti v Protektorátu Čechy a Morava během posledních měsíců druhé světové války v Evropě. Závěrečný díl knižní trilogie není ani monotematický, ani obsahově tolik sevřený jako publikace předchozí. Přináší řadu krátkých, informačně nabitých kapitol, které rámují příběh partyzánských skupin na Moravě v období jejich vrcholné činnosti, tj. od porážky Slovenského národního povstání do českého povstání v květnu 1945. Některé z příběhů nebyly záměrně zařazeny do prvních dílů, některé vykrystalizovaly až na základě studia archivního materiálu poté. V každém případě je jejich zveřejnění přínosem v interpretaci problematiky partyzánského hnutí v protektorátu jako takovém. Toto téma je ostatně historiky stále pomíjeno a přehlíženo, stejně jako problematika domácího komunistického odboje. Střípky příběhů, které jsou obsaženy v publikaci Partyzánské otazníky aneb co ukryla válka dokreslují původní načrtnuté příběhy, zasazují je do pevnějšího rámce – a to vše na pozadí dramatických posledních měsíců druhé světové války, kdy partyzánské hnutí dosáhlo co do počtu aktivních skupin i co do počtu jejich bojových střetů s nepřítelem, destrukcí a sabotáží absolutního vrcholu. Kniha obsahuje odkazy na archivní materiály, bohatou fotografickou dokumentaci (cca 85 fotografií), seznam zkratek, odkazy na použité prameny a literaturu. V knize jsou zaznamenány i autentické výpovědi, dnes již zemřelých účastníků uvedených akcí. Kniha je volným pokračováním knih Partyzánská odysea a osud Věry Pilařové (2012) a Partyzáni Vysočiny a krvavý konec války (2015). V únoru 1944 osvobodila Rudá armáda ukrajinskou Volyň, kde žila početná česká menšina. Tisíce mužů a žen následně vstoupily do československé armády, aby bojovaly za osvobození rodné země svých předků. Byl mezi nimi i učitel Václav Kalcovský, který byl jako kancelářský rotmistr přidělen k oddílu samohybných děl, z něhož se později stal 3. tankový prapor. S ním se následně účastnil tažení do Československa – prošel boji na Dukle, v Polsku a při osvobozování Ostravy. Nevzpomíná ale jen na střety s Němci, popisuje každodenní život vojáků na frontě a v týlu či soužití s obyvateli v oblastech, kterými procházeli. A také na své velitele, mezi nimiž nechybí Hrdina Sovětského svazu Richard Tesařík, a na příjezd do Prahy, jež ale nebyla taková, jakou ji očekávali. Následně se se svým praporem podílel na konsolidaci pohraničí na severní Moravě, načež odešel ke své předválečné profesi. Rozsáhlé vzpomínky doplňuje na 250 unikátních fotografií a dokumentů, které přibližují i osudy dalších, dnes již téměř zapomenutých československých účastníků druhé světové války.

Náboje do ručních palných zbraní
Nikoho nepřekvapí, že náboje pro ruční palné zbraně jsou trvalým předmětem zájmu vojáků, policistů, příslušníků strážních a speciálních služeb, lovců, sportovních střelců a občanů nosících zbraň pro svou obranu, nemluvě o sběratelích nábojů a příznivcích vojenské historie vůbec.
Každá z těchto skupin však má na střelivo z pochopitelných důvodů jiný úhel pohledu. Informace o jednotlivých nábojích se proto snažíme podat jako určitý kompromis různých hledisek.
Přesto, že historie jednotných nábojů do ručních palných zbraní je obdobím poměrně krátkým, je v současné době již téměř nezjistitelné, kolik ráží nábojů se za tento nepříliš dlouhý čas vyrábělo. Podat opravdu spolehlivé informace o všech rážích, které opustily brány továren za uplynulých přibližně 150 let, je dnes totiž mimořádně obtížné, ne-li zcela nemožné.
Zaměřili jsme se proto jak na náboje se středovým zápalem, které jsou mezinárodně normalizované, tak na některé náboje dnes sice již zastaralé, které byly ovšem ve své době významné nebo něčím zajímavé.
