Portsmouth is primarily known for its long-term association with the Royal Navy, the naval dockyard at one time the world’s largest employer of a civilian workforce. Yet there is much more to Portsmouth than being home to Britain’s Senior Service. This book provides the first sustained philosophical treatment of Pope Francis's Laudato Si' and articulates a theology of creation to recover our place within the cosmos. A balti államok megkezdték a leválást a Moszkva által kontrollált áramhálózatról, visszaállították a kötelező katonai szolgálatot, és gyakorolták a gerilla-hadviselést. Lengyelország a GDP közel 5%-ára emelte katonai költségvetését, és fokozta védelmi együttműködését Washingtonnal. Hannibál a kapuk előtt! – adták tovább a hírt a rémült római polgárok i. e. 217-ben, amikor az Alpokon átkelve az ókor egyik legnagyobb hadvezére seregei élén az örök város felé közeledett. Romsics Ignác új kötete első részének címe arra utal, hogy napjaink európai polgárai ismét fenyegetve érezhetik magukat. Az átalakulóban lévő világpolitika többféle lehetőséget rejt magában, s ezek egyike nem a tartós béke és a szilárd jogrend, hanem a nagyhatalmi ellentétek és a regionális konfliktusok állandósulása irányába mutat. Zastavíme se krátce i u rituálů rozloučení a návratu do života, kdy už nebudeme muset být v neustálé pohotovosti.

Nestačí jen „slyšet“
Umíte skutečně naslouchat, nebo jen čekáte, až budete moci mluvit? Naslouchání není jen pasivní příjem informací: je to biologicky i psychologicky náročný proces, který vyžaduje vnímání, pozornost, empatii a v neposlední řadě i konkrétní komunikační dovednosti.
Monografie Marie Herynkové a Jany Marie Havigerové propojuje teorii aktivního naslouchání v tradici Carla Rogerse se současnými modely procesu naslouchání, s neurovědními vysvětleními náročnosti tohoto procesu a zejména s vlastním kvaziexperimentálním výzkumem 74 studentů učitelství. Sedmitýdenní trénink byl sledován pomocí dotazníku AEL-S i objektivní analýzy audiozáznamů rozhovorů. Výsledky odhalily zajímavý rozpor mezi subjektivním vnímáním a měřitelnou realitou: zatímco studenti sami změnu nepociťovali, jejich komunikace se proměnila – od defenzivních reakcí k většímu využívání objasňování, k validaci emocí a k projevům empatie, jiný byl celkový styl vedení rozhovoru.
Kniha nepředkládá jednoduché návody ani univerzální recepty. Nabízí odborný, střízlivý, daty podložený pohled na aktivní naslouchání jako dovednost, kterou lze rozvíjet, a kterou stojí za to rozvíjet.
