Robinson’s approach to the medium of watercolor is primarily traditional but his methods are unconventional. Robinson simplifies the process and teaches artists to layer colors from light to dark and to focus on the highlighted areas first.
He teaches that the values should be established in the beginning stages of the painting, using a monochromatic block-in that allows you to glaze pure layers of color over a muted gray underpainting. The results produce more sophisticated, subtle paintings. Further, his “live in the moment” approach embraces watercolor’s unpredictability as part of the process, the end result being a painting with intensity, spontaneity, and beauty.

But Botticelli's fame today was by no means a foregone conclusion. Quickly forgotten after his death, he was only rediscovered as an artist in the nineteenth century - and much of what we know of his work has been pieced together from fragmentary evidence; only three of his works are signed or documented. Since then, 'Botticelli' has been interpreted in many different ways, and has led to many questions. How does a painter acquire international fame? What made Botticelli a pop icon? Why are his works considered timeless? What is it that makes him so 'European' that his Venus appears on the 10 cent coin?What we can say - safely - is that Botticelli, more than any other Old Master, inspired and continues to inspire modern and contemporary art.

Renoir
Celebrates one of the giants of French Impressionism with luxurious, large-format images Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919) was one of the founders of Impressionism and a friend of Monet, Pissarro and Sisley. He worked side-by-side with Monet on the banks of the Seine, sharing his concern with light and colour, but landscape painting never displaced his enduring love of figure painting. Delighting in the ample curves of the nudes he painted increasingly frequently in his later years, Renoir was also a master at capturing the spirit of Parisian life. His art is filled with optimism - his lifelong philosophy was that he painted because it gave him pleasure, and he shares that pleasure with those who see his work. It is almost always summer in his pictures, and in paintings like Moulin de la Galette, The Dance at Bougival and The Luncheon of the Boating Party he gives us an enduring record of contemporaries relaxing and enjoying their leisure.
Vermeer
Celebrates one of the greatest painters of the Dutch Golden Age with luxurious, large-format images Johannes Vermeer (1632-75) is one of the most beloved artists of the Dutch Golden Age. Maria Bartuszova - Provisional Forms
The work of Slovak sculptor Maria Bartuszová (1936-96) was first presented to international audiences in Kassel in 2007. Kandinsky
The richness of Wassily Kandinsky's life, work and thought make him one of the leading figures of 20th-century art. Sledujeme-li dílo určitého autora, nutně dospějeme v rámci jeho pozdní tvorby k posledním obrazům, nebo dokonce přímo k jednomu konkrétnímu poslednímu obrazu. Máme zažité termíny jako raná tvorba, která zahrnuje počátky a období hledání, po ní následuje doba zrání, jež spěje ke zralé tvorbě, gradující ve tvorbě vrcholné. Nakonec přicházejí poslední obrazy - ty mohou být vyústěním předcházející tvorby, často se od ní však odlišují, a jsou tak nějakým způsobem výjimečné. Ne zřídka se proto stává, že nemají, pokud jsou takto problematické, v rámci autorova díla plnohodnotné postavení. Neexistuje jeden standardní poslední obraz, ale různé poslední obrazy, tak, jak jsou různé umělecké osobnosti a jejich životní osudy.
