A népdal hagyományos vidéki közösségekből származó, szájhagyomány útján terjedő lírai és zenei mű, melynek szerzője ismeretlen. A gyűjteményünkben szereplő 111 magyar népdal átfogó képet ad a műfaj témáiról, zenei lehetőségeiről és szépségéről. A népdal a műzenére, vagyis a magyar nótára is erős befolyást gyakorolt, mivel ennek szerzői igyekeztek a népdal elemeit utánozni. Az itt közreadott népdalok angol fordítása arra szolgál, hogy becses kulturális hagyatékunknak ezt a részét a külföldiek számára is érthetővé tegye. A fordítás követi a magyar eredeti szövegét, ritmusát és rímképletét, és ezzel az angol nyelvű előadást is lehetővé teszi.
A népdalok fordítója, Nagy György több mint öt évtizede él az Egyesült Államokban. Nevéhez számos szótár és nyelvkönyv kiadása fűződik. A TINTA Könyvkiadónál jelent meg 2019-ben a Tele van a csipkebokor virággal című gyűjteménye, amelyben 333 magyar nóta és azok angol fordítása található.
The folk song is a lyrical and musical composition, handed down by oral tradition, whose author is unknown. The 111 songs presented in this collection provide a cross section of the typical themes and musical possibilities showing the beauty of the genre. The rich musical motifs of Hungarian folk songs have influenced the Hungarian country song, whose composers tried to imitate the folk songs. The current English translation of the selected folk songs has the purpose of making this part of our cultural tradition understandable to the outside world. The translation follows the text, rhythm, and rhyme scheme of the Hungarian original, making its English language performance possible.
The translator, György Nagy, has been living in the United States for more than 50 years. He is the author of numerous dictionaries and language books. In 2019, his English translation of 333 Hungarian country songs entitled Tele van a csipkebokor virággal was published by TINTA Könyvkiadó.

René Magritte (1898–1967) is the most famous Belgian artist of the twentieth century and a celebrated representative of the Surrealist movement. Much has been written about his practices, artistic community, and significance within the history of modernism, but little has been documented regarding his process.
This volume examines fifty oil paintings made by Magritte between 1921 and 1967, now held at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium. This technical study of his works using noninvasive scientific imaging and chemical analysis reveals the artist’s painting materials, his habit of overpainting previous compositions, and the origins and mechanisms of surface and pigment degradation. Of interest to conservators, scientists, curators, and enthusiasts of twentieth-century art, this book expands our understanding of Magritte the artist and provides new and useful findings that will inform strategies for the future care of his works.

Kay Nielsen. 1001 Nights
In the late 1910s, in a Europe ravaged by World War I, Danish illustrator Kay Nielsen put the finishing touches on his illustrations of A Thousand and One Nights. The results are considered masterpieces of early 20th-century illustration: bursting with sumptuous colors of deep blues, reds, and gold leaf, and evoking all the magic of this legendary collection of Indo-Persian and Arabic folktales, compiled between the 8th and 13th centuries.However, publishers retreated from Nielsen's project in the financially strapped postwar climate, and the publication never happened.
A rising star, Nielsen moved on to other work. This world heritage classic's spectacular pen, ink, and watercolor images remained under lock and key for 40 years. Published just once in the 1970s, the illustrations were rescued from oblivion after Nielsen's death in 1957 and are now held by the UCLA Grunwald Center for the Graphic Arts at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, the Art Institute of Chicago, and in two private collections.This publication is a unique compilation of fine art prints and stunning illustrations reproduced directly from Nielsen's original watercolors?the only complete set of his extraordinary drawings to have survived.
