Chicago Architecture Biennial is North America's largest international survey of contemporary architecture and designSHIFT: Architecture in Times of Radical Change is published in conjunction with the 6th Chicago Architecture Biennial (CAB 2025) under the artistic direction of Florencia Rodriguez. In a world defined by crisis and uncertainty, architects are researching, relearning and reimagining, the volume marks not only a change in direction but also presents provocative inquiries about a redefinition in the substance and fundamentals of the field. It is an invitation to think with others, to project with intention, and to set new grounds for the interpretation and design of our built environments. In the same spirit, the book unfolds the many faces of SHIFT across a dynamic constellation of editorial and speculative formats through collective, multilayered, and multidimensional conversations, visual essays, and manifestos.
CAB 2025 participants' voices are brought to print through a transcript of a five-hour conversation marathon that tackled topics such as new realism, the magic in the ordinary, pleasures in the urban, and the need to critically shift architecture's language, as well as a repository of manifestos exploring other possible worlds. Beyond the exhibition, SHIFT: Architecture in Times of Radical Change also calls upon practitioners from different fields to discuss the current state of education in architecture schools, the challenges of material culture, the future of housing, and exhibitions as devices for change.

Petr Wittlich vybudoval nový samotný výkladový systém. Kniha Figura, tak představuje pro další generace, nejen historiků umění, návod jak nepředpojatě a zároveň poučeně vnímat umění jako takové. Jde o jedinečný přínos dějinám umění, syntézu Wittlichova celoživotního úsilí, knihu, která přetrvá věky.
Václav Mergl – Mysterium hmoty
Václav Mergl (1935) je jednou z nejvýznamnějších osobností české animace, stejně jako výrazným představitelem tuzemského moderního výtvarného umění. Jeho filmy, koláže či kresby tvoří nezaměnitelný úkaz i díky tomu, jak nakládají s vědecko-fantastickým žánrem nebo s principy hmoty. Monografie poprvé nabízí širší pohled na Merglovu tvorbu jako na jedinečný celek, v němž se animace prolíná s neméně osobitou výtvarnou činností. Hříšníku, stůj!
Kniha přináší ojedinělý pohled na spirituály - písně z dob otroctví v celé své syrové kráse a zbožnosti - v nových převodech Michala Bystrova. Tento hudební žánr zrozený z utrpení afroamerických otroků je u nás známý především díky Spirituál kvintetu, který tyto písně naděje, víry a bolesti proslavil tak, že mnohé zlidověly. Na rozdíl od jejich volných adaptací se Bystrov pokouší zachytit původní tragický kontext, přísnou zbožnost a těsné vazby na texty Starého a Nového zákona. Přesto i jemu se místy nedaří udržet vážnou tvář - zejména v oddílech věnovaných biblickým prorokům vtip a fantazie prorážejí na povrch. Publikace je doplněna konkrétními pasážemi z Bible, které tvoří nedílnou součást duchovního poselství spirituálů.
Jak dodává autor předmluvy Jiří Tichota, u překladů lidových písní nejde jen o doslovnost, ale i o zachování něčeho nevyslovitelného - rozpoložení původního autora, jedinečnosti slovních obrazů a genia loci. Neměla být spíše vytvořena kniha Výtvarné Brno Adolfa Kroupy? Nebo Dalibora Chatrného? Kniha „Výtvarné Brno Igora Zhoře 1957–1997“ sleduje podstatné vývojové kroky v uměleckém životě několika desetiletí a ukazuje, že to byl právě teoretik Igor Zhoř, kdo se naprosto zásadně podílel na mnoha důležitých aktivitách. Společně s tehdejším ředitelem Domu umění města Brna založil sdružení Mladí přátelé výtvarného umění, s Ivanem Rullerem a Vladimírem Preclíkem se zasloužil o vznik Fakulty výtvarných umění Vysokého učení technického v Brně, stál u zrodu Galerie mladých, byl spoluzakladatelem a prvním kurátorem Galerie Jaroslava Krále, zakládal umělecké skupiny a napsal skvělé knihy, jimiž hned několika generacím zájemců otevíral přístupové cesty k problematice aktuálního umění.
