Kniha Mesto pre všetkých? Odkrývanie infraštruktúry segregácie vychádza z interdisciplinárneho angažovaného výskumu, ktorý prebiehal medzi rokmi 2020 až 2022. V jeho rámci vznikla prípadová štúdia o tzv. vylúčenej lokalite nachádzajúcej sa vo Veľkom Krtíši, malom okresnom meste na juhovýchodnom Slovensku.
Ku knihe je pribalená aj kartová hra Starostlivosť z budúcnosti, redizajn hry od Situation Lab s pôvodným názvom Thing From The Future. Redizajn realizoval tím RUVK. Princípom hry je hľadanie riešení z pozície zástupkyne či zástupcu mestskej samosprávy. Z týchto riešení by mali benefitovať inak opomíjané skupiny ľudských aj neľudských aktérov v meste.
RUVK je výskumný a intervenčný tím, zložený z dizajnérok, architektov, sociálnych vedkýň, odborníka na sociálne bývanie a právnika. V lokalite pracuje v rôznych zostavách už od roku 2018. Členovia tímu asistovali obyvateľom pri adresovaní závad v bývaní mestu ako prenajímateľovi a tiež pri podaní podnetu verejnej ochrankyni práv. Po hromadnom ukončení nájomných zmlúv zo strany Mesta Veľký Krtíš v septembri 2020, ktoré sa dotklo približne 130 ľudí, z toho 70 detí, v bytovom dome 4 mesiace intenzívne, na každodennej báze, pôsobil jeden z členov tímu. RUVK usiloval tiež o prepojenie lokálnych subjektov s cieľom posilniť kapacity pre terénnu sociálnu prácu a dostupné bývanie v lokalite.
