Písňová tvorba Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel
Publikace pojednává o vokálních a klavírních písních Fanny Hensel, roz. Mendelssohn. Zabývá se specifickou kulturně-sociální situací Berlína první poloviny 19. století (zejména otázkou židovské asimilace a salónu jakožto určité formy hledání vlastní identity i asimilace), rodinou Mendelssohnů a životem samotné Fanny Hensel. Nastiňuje dějiny německé písně od jejího vzniku až do začátku 19. století a také hledá kořeny žánru písně beze slov.
Hlavním cílem studie bylo formulovat charakteristické znaky henselovského stylu a dokázat jeho svébytnost ve vztahu k dílu Felixe Mendelssohna-Bartholdyho. Součástí jsou analýzy klavírních i vokálních písní Fanny Hensel a jejich srovnání s díly dalších významných skladatelů romantismu.

Te tohunga
O Maorském umění jsem jaktěživ neslyšel a, když mi bylo poprvé nabídnuto, vlastně jsem ani neměl na vybranou. Zprvu mne znechutilo. Čas mi však k němu vydláždil cestičku. Věčně zelená příroda byla překrásná a přímo mi nutila své poznání, abych v jejích zákoutích promrhal zbytek svého života tak, jako ona ztrácela ten svůj. Chráníce sebe sama před jejími překrásnými chapadly, začal jsem nejdříve nákresy starých řezeb. Poté jsem zabředával hlouběji. Přímo tam vedle mě hledíc na mou práci seděl starý Maor hovořící o skutcích jeho předka, na jehož řezbu jsem shlížel. A že to byly skutky!
