Vývoj slovenskej bábkovej hry od 19. storočia až po súčasnosť sa v tejto knihe skúma z niekoľkých strán a pohľadov. Dvadsaťtri kapitol je venovaných tak jednotlivým významným dramatickým autorom, ako aj syntetickým pohľadom na celé vývinové etapy slovenského bábkarstva. Veľkoryso poňatý prehľad zahŕňa najmä dramatické texty, no nemôže celkom obísť ani ich významné scénické predvedenia. Najmä v prípadoch, keď je autor textu zároveň jeho režisérom a daný text už v svojej písanej podobe zahŕňa množstvo pokynov konkrétnym hercom či scénickému výtvarníkovi. V plejáde autorov textov pre bábkové divadlo, ktorých predstavuje táto kniha, sa tak stretávajú tí, ktorí písali univerzálne hry, po desaťročia hrané divadlami nielen na Slovensku, s autormi, ktorých doménou ani nie je dramatická, lež epická literatúra, a svoje dramatické texty vytvárali v tesnej spolupráci s divadelnými dramaturgmi a režisérmi. Netreba zabúdať aj na to, že časť bábkarského repertoára tvoria rôzne dramatizácie pôvodne prozaických textov ľudových či umelých rozprávok. Veľkú skupinu predstavujú už spomenutí praktickí divadelníci, ktorí píšu svoje bábkové hry s presným zacielením na ich javiskovú realizáciu. Čo však neznamená, že výlet takýchto hier za hranice domáceho súboru je celkom vylúčený: príkladom môžu byť texty Divadla PIKI z Pezinka. Publikácia presne zachytáva aj najnovší vývoj bábkového divadla, ktorý smeruje k interaktivite a miešaniu nielen divadelných druhov, ale aj žánrov. Záslužným krokom je zaradenie obsiahlej kapitoly venovanej dramatickej produkcii nezávislých bábkových divadiel, ktorých premenlivá existencia je oveľa menej systematicky zdokumentovaná ako pri ich kamenných kolegoch.

Nejmenší etudy pro malé i větší houslisty (1.-4. poloha)
Zkušená a oblíbená pedagožka Eva Bublová se ve své nejnovější Houslové knížce 4 zabývá problematikou pohybu houslistovy levé ruky po hmatníku. Výlučným tématem Nejmenších etud pro malé i větší houslisty jsou tudíž výměny poloh (1.-4.), nikoliv pouze hraní ve vyšších polohách. Zcela nové je zde vnímání výměn jako pohybového a sluchového prožitku intervalů.
Nejmenší etudy navazují metodicky na program Houslových knížek 1-3, buď jako jejich pokračování nebo je lze používat i souběžně s Houslovou knížkou 2. Melodické jedno- až dvouřádkové etudy jsou vhodné i při výuce z jiných škol či metodik jako náhrada za méně atraktivní technická cvičení a stupnice.
Některé etudy jsou obohaceny druhým hlasem, v závěru je připojeno sedm tzv. koncertních etud ve spoluautorství Josefa Vlčka. Klavírní doprovody jsou do sešitu vloženy jako příloha.
Metodika: Jakkoli je hlavním tématem těchto etud práce levé ruky, připomínáme naléhavě nezbytnost komplexního přístupu k houslové hře.
Základní postoj hraje rozhodující roli i při výuce výměn poloh. Pokud tolerujeme nedbalé nebo naopak křečovité držení těla, prohýbání či vytáčení páteře, zvedání ramenou, naklánění hlavy k levému či pravému rameni (tím nemyslíme malé a flexibilní pootočení hlavy doleva) a nevěnujeme pozornost tomu, aby housle spočívaly bezpečně a přitom měkce mezi ramenem a levou čelistí, je levá ruka nucena housle zdvíhat (což pak ještě umocňuje častý příkaz housle nahoru!). Představa, že se táž ruka má ještě po hmatníku klidně a s jistotou posouvat, je téměř neuskutečnitelná. Výměny se pak řeší jako prudké skoky s veškerým rizikem, že se prst netrefí.
Přirozený pohyb pravé paže a držení smyčce se součinností všech částí paže a ruky jsou další podmínkou úspěšnosti našeho snažení.
Nelze po levé ruce chtít nenucený, samozřejmý a klidný pohyb, jestliže pravá ruka smyčec zcela zbytečně až křečovitě svírá. Pak ovšem také ve snaze o tvoření krásného tónu a o prohlubování dynamiky mylně používá tlak na strunu místo váhy celé pravé paže, čímž strunu místo rozkmitání dusí.

Hudebníci 70. - 80. léta / Musicians 1970s-1980
Do dějin české fotografie se Miloň Novotný zapsal ve svých osmatřiceti letech vynikající knihou Londýn, která vyšla v období pražského jara. Po sovětské okupaci se ocitl na indexu nežádoucích autorů a nemohl publikovat. Jednou z možností, jak se uživit, byla spolupráce se Svazem českých skladatelů a koncertních umělců. Miloň Novotný však nebyl rutinní fotograf, a tak se nám díky jeho talentu a přísné umělecké selekci dochovala unikátní sbírka skvělých portrétů tehdy začínajících i slavných hudebníků.
