Martin Parr: Beach Therapy
During his long career as a photographer, Martin Parr has always photographed on beaches, particularly in the UK. He has often used the beach as a laboratory to experiment with new cameras and techniques. So far example, when he changed from black and white to medium format colour in the early 80s his first major project was about New Brighton, a run down seaside resort near Liverpool.
In recent months he has started exploring the beach with the aid of a telephoto lens. This lens is rarely used in the world of art and documentary photography so it is a challenge to find new ways of using it. Often this involves incorporating the vegetation on the perimeter with the beach as a backdrop, both in and out of focus.
So over his long career he has tried everything from a close up macro lens, a medium format wide angled camera and finally this latest offering with the telephoto.

Dialektika předpokladů a reality jednoho projektu Intro z roku 2017: Kateřina Adamová (1977), Michaela Maupicová (1982) a Dana Sahánková (1984) jsou autorky zabývající se především kresbou. Každá s tímto médiem zachází jinak a každá z něho vychází jiným směrem, vstříc jinému horizontu.
Název výstavy Postkonceptuální antikoncepce odkazující k radikální kritické tradici DADA, v sobě zrcadlí pro současnost charakteristickou „hru s diskursem“. Výstava si zvolila jako analogon k „hernímu principu současného diskursu“ oblast farmakologie, konkrétně té spjaté s oddálením početí. Pokračování 2018: Antikoncepci v názvu projektu lze ale také vnímat jako ironickou metaforu označující způsob práce, který jde oproti racionálnímu kalkulu spíše cestou intuice a vciťování. Vždyť co je koncepční, to souvisí v první řadě s myšlením, s rozvahou, kalkulem, s nějakým ideovým rozvrhem, jenž sleduje a naplňuje konkrétní cíl. Rembrandt a Picasso
Srovnání Rembrandta s Picassem nevychází z přímého rozboru jejich děl, nýbrž z hodnocení místa, které zaujímají v historickém kontextu. Oba malíři stojí na opačných koncích jedné velké, čtyři sta let trvající vývojové fáze evropského malířství. Ranní i večerní hodina klade na tvůrce paradoxně analogické požadavky: ani na chvíli neustrnout v průkopnickém díle, neustále být připraven zpracovávat velké množství témat a mít přitom v zásobě stále se rozšiřující paletu výrazových prostředků, technik a žánrů.

Miloš Cvach: Není to socha!
Sochař Miloš Cvach (nar. 1945 ve Víru v okrese Žďár nad Sázavou) patří k umělcům, jejichž tvorba je v českém prostředí známa a reflektována pouze omezeně. Jednou z příčin je to, že v roce 1973 emigroval a usadil se v Paříži, kde žije dodnes. Kniha je první monografií, mapující souhrnně jeho život a dílo od figurálních prací, vzniklých na Akademii výtvarných umění v Praze, přes objekty a reliéfy, blízké minimalismu, až k současné tvorbě reliéfům, autorským knihám, kresbám, grafikám a videu.
Karel Glogr
Desátým svazkem edice Osobnosti české scénografie, kterou od roku 2014 vydává Institut umění Divadelní ústav, je monografie věnovaná scénickému a kostýmnímu výtvarníkovi Karlu Glogrovi (nar. 1958). Glogr v letech 1977 až 1984 studoval scénografii u profesorů Jana Duška a Alberta Pražáka na Divadelní akademii múzických umění v Praze, kde od roku 1999 dosud působí pedagogicky. Jako scénograf byl v angažmá ve Státním divadle Oldřicha Stibora v Olomouci (19851987), v Divadle Josefa Kajetána Tyla v Plzni (19871989), v Divadle E. F. Buriana v Praze (19891990) a v Divadle na Vinohradech v Praze (19912004). Jako host spolupracuje s divadly po celé České republice i se zahraničními scénami (Slovensko, Slovinsko, Chorvatsko, Itálie, Německo, Estonsko). Mezi režiséry, s nimiž ho pojí spolupráce nejčastěji, patří Jan Burian, Hana Burešová, Ladislav Smoček, Petr Kracik nebo Jiří Menzel. Autorkou česko-anglické publikace je pedagožka DAMU Vlasta Koubská, redaktorkou Denisa Šťastná a autorkou grafického řešení Tereza Melenová.
