Stephen Shore Survivors in Ukraine
A powerful and haunting visual record, Stephen Shore's portraits highlight the resilience and hope of Ukraine's Holocaust survivors. Stephen Shore, one of the most influential photographers living today, traveled to the Ukraine in 2012 and again in 2013, just prior to the current political upheaval, to visit 35 survivors, most of whom are women. In the photographs of the survivors and their homes, Shore visually explores their collective experience as seen through quotidian details, and leaves open the question as to how the history of the Holocaust informs the viewer's reception of the portraits. The book's 200 digital color photographs are organized to create intimate portraits of their individual and collective experiences whilst maintaining the unsentimental formal order of his photography. An essay by Jane Kramer, who has written The New Yorker's Letter from Europe since 1981, will situate the survivors and their stories in the historical context of Ukraine's modern history with a particular emphasis in the place of Jews within that history. Klimt

Rivera
It was as a revolutionary and troublemaker that Picasso, Dali and Andre Breton described the husband of Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, but he was also responsible for creating a public art that was both highly advanced and profoundly accessible. From 1910 Rivera lived in Europe where he absorbed the influence of Cubism. After the Mexican revolution, however, he returned to his homeland and harnessed the lessons of the European avant-garde to the needs of the Mexican people. His own murals, and those of the Mexican Muralists who followed his example, presented a utopian vision of a post-revolutionary Mexico. Rivera's historical paintings expressed his interpretation of the revolution and its ideals, in a style that showed him returning to the pre-Columbian roots of Mexican culture, re-inventing a colourfully realistic visual idiom that could appeal directly to a largely illiterate people. This is the first study which, independently of the exhibition circuit, coherently presents the work of this extraordinary artist.
Caravaggio
Notorious bad boy of Italian Baroque painting, Caravaggio (1571-1610) is finally getting the recognition he deserves. Though his name may be familiar to all of us, his work had been habitually detested and forced into obscurity. Not only was his theatrical realism unfashionable in his time, but his sacrilegious subject matter and use of lower-class models were violently scorned. Caravaggio's great work had the misfortune of enduring centuries of disrepute. It wasn't until the end of the 19th century that he was rediscovered and, quite posthumously, deemed a great master. Leonardo
One of the most accomplished human beings who ever lived, Leonardo remains the quintessential Renaissance genius. Marta Taberyová, sochařka a keramička, patří k předním osobnostem této výtvarné kategorie v poválečné české generaci. Narozena v Olomouci, je dnes svou existencí a tvorbou plně zakotvena v Praze. Po studiu na středních průmyslových školách v Železném Brodě a v Praze, získala solidní výtvarné vzdělání na vysoké škole uměleckoprůmyslové v Praze v ateliéru profesora Otto Eckerta (1949–1954). Ve vlastní ateliérové tvorbě, uznávané doma i v zahraničí, realizovala svůj dosavadní profesionální život.
