Zborník obsahuje hry Evy Maliti-Fraňovej (Krcheň Nesmrteľný), Viliama Klimáčka (Lara), Mareka Godoviča (Jeho zle ohlásená smrť), Romana Olekšáka (Negativisti) a Petra Pavlaca (Deus ex Machina).
Paradoxy čchanového mistra
Tung-šan, celým jménem Tung-šan Liang-ťie, byl proslulý čínský čchanový mistr z 9. století, žák a pokračovatel mnicha Jün-jen Tchan-šenga. Věřil, že i neživé věci mohou slyšet výklad o dharmě, a učil se mu naslouchat. Stanovil a vysvětlil pět stupňů, jež vedou po cestě k osvícení. Spolu se svým žákem Cchao-šanem Pen-ťim založil školu Cchao-tung (japonsky Sótó), nazvanou podle jejich jmen a ovlivněnou naukou buddhistické filosofické školy Chua-jen (jap. Kegon), založenou na Avatamsaka sútře. Bylo mu dáno posmrtné přízvisko Čchanový mistr Wu-pen, to jest ten, kdo pochopil podstatu. Na stúpě s jeho ostatky je psáno: Vědomost moudrosti. Tung-šanovo učení bylo sepsáno až v 17. století, v rámci Rozprav pěti škol. Z této verze vychází náš překlad. Tung-šanovy rozpravy si rovněž získaly značnou oblibu v Japonsku, kde je upravil a v roce 1739 samostatně vydal mnich Gimoku Genkai. Rozpravy z čínských originálů přeložila, předmluvu napsala, poznámkami a glosářem opatřila Lucie Olivová. Tato pražská sinoložka je rovněž autorkou druhého textu v tomto výboru, a to menší studie „O čchanové malbě“. Zde stručně nastiňuje vývoj tohoto jedinečného malířského směru v čínské a japonské kultuře a komentuje obrazy slavných čínských i japonských zenových mistrů z 10. - 19. století, které jsou v knize reprodukovány (Mu-čchi, Liang Kchaj, Sengai Gibon a jiní).

Pattern Design
Patterns are everywhere – on paper or cloth, as wallpaper or as wrapping material. Patterns can be strictly abstract and geometrical or concrete, multicoloured or monochrome. Sometimes they serve as a background, sometimes as a coating.
They are usually composed of a recurrent motif – often floral or natural, sometimes abstract. They have in common that they're not meant to be seen as a picture with a focus, nor as the main thing that draws the attention. The purpose of a pattern is mostly to create a mood, a backdrop, a setting for the main thing.
Creating an ideal pattern requires a certain restraint and a good knowledge of colours. Historically, William Morris springs to the mind with his famous quasi-mediaeval designs for panels and textiles. More recently, the Finnish company Marimekko defined a style that is mostly associated with the sixties, though their influence is still visible today. You'll find traces of both in many of the designs collected in this book.
