Kniha Zdeňka Hudce je vůbec první odbornou monografií věnovanou dílu zřejmě nejznámějšího nizozemského filmaře Paula Verhoevena, režiséra nemilosrdně otevřených společenskokritických snímků Turecký med či Sprej na vlasy či provokativních hollywoodských blockbusterů RoboCop či Základní instinkt. Publikace je rozdělena do dvou oddílů první představuje chronologicky filmovou kariéru tohoto filmového tvůrce od raných školních snímků přelomu 50. a 60. let přes vrcholnou nizozemskou etapu 70. let a střídavé úspěchy jeho hollywoodské éry 80 a 90. let až po jeho návrat do Evropy k artověji pojaté produkci. V druhé části knihy se autor věnuje vybraným tématům typickým pro Verhoevenovu (nejen) filmovou tvorbu postava Ježíše Krista a náboženství, sex a násilí, nakládání s realitou a fikcí, vztah k dějinám a politické sdělení. Az akasztófa árnyékában - François Villon
Az akasztófa árnyékában hiánypótló kötet. Villon verseinek Magyarországon ugyanis számtalan kiadása van, önálló monográfia azonban mindeddig nem jelent meg a költőről. A mű a legújabb kutatási eredményekre: levéltárakból előkerült okiratokra, bírósági végzésekre, kegyelmi levelekre támaszkodva göngyölíti fel Villon élettörténetét és elemzi verseit. A legfrissebb szakirodalom alapján rekonstruál. A középkor történelmi, társadalmi környezetébe helyezve igyekszik teljes képet adni élet és mű lehetséges kapcsolódásairól. Kételyeket is megfogalmaz, hiszen annyi ebben a dokumentumhalmazban az ismeretlen elem, hogy Villon életének még a kronológiáját is nehéz megnyugtatóan összeállítani.
A kutatók számára jól használható, az irodalomkedvelők érdeklődésére is számot tartó kismonográfia korabeli illusztrációkkal idézi meg az első "elátkozott költő" világát, életterét és költészetét.
Anton Šmotlák
Piata publikácia Aurela Hrabušického a Filipa Vanča z edície Osobnosti slovenskej fotografie predstavujte Antona Šmotláka (1920 - 1979). Ako profesionál sa špecializoval na divadelnú fotografiu, ale od samého začiatku sa venoval aj živej fotografii. Patril k prvým slovenským fotografom, ktorí sa v rámci živej či priamej fotografie postarali o uvoľnenie z dogiem socialistického realizmu. Spontánne a bez predsudkov zaznamenával okamihy z bežného života v Bratislave, ale aj inde na Slovensku. Do fotografie vniesol hybný moment, akceleráciu diania, razanciu v záberoch, akýsi fotografický „drajv". V druhej polovici 50. a začiatkom 60. rokov obsiahol taký široký register tém a spracoval ich s takým porozumením ako máloktorý iný slovenský fotograf. Možno sa mu to podarilo aj preto, lebo bol „dobrotivým paparazzom" - ako ho nazval Július Satinský, keď komentoval jeho predčasnú smrť.

Case Study Houses
The Case Study House program (1945-1966) was an exceptional, innovative event in the history of American architecture and remains to this day unique. The program, which concentrated on the Los Angeles area and oversaw the design of 36 prototype homes, sought to make available plans for modern residences that could be easily and cheaply constructed during the postwar building boom.
The program's chief motivating force was Arts & Architecture editor John Entenza, a champion of modernism who had all the right connections to attract some of architecture's greatest talents, such as Richard Neutra, Charles and Ray Eames, and Eero Saarinen.
