Začátkem března roku 2009 vydalo nakladatelství REPRONIS v Ostravě odbornou knihu „Inženýrskogeologický průzkum pro přehrady, aneb co nás také poučilo“. Kniha pojednává v celé šíři problematiky o všech průzkumných metodách, které oba autoři při průzkumech pro přehrady aplikovali a uvádí praktické postupy a návody. Za velmi cenné a novátorské lze považovat zejména tu skutečnost, že více než teorii se oba autoři věnují praktickým příkladům, převážně z vodohospodářských staveb, kde prováděli průzkumné práce, nebo ze staveb, kde pracovali jako poradci, či je prostě jen navštívili a dokumentovali. Kniha se záhy stala nepostradatelnou pracovní pomůckou při průzkumu pro přehrady a osvědčila se i jako vysokoškolská učebnice. V roce 2009 byla navržena na udělení literální ceny nadace „Nadání Josefa, Marie a Zdeňka Hlávkových“ za nejlepší publikaci v oblasti vědecké literatury. I když kniha v papírové podobě byla vydána v nákladu 1000 výtisků, dnes se dá říci, že je v podstatě až na pár výtisků rozebrána. Proto se oba autoři rozhodli zpracovat druhé, rozšířené a doplněné vydání. Studie vychází z projektu „Hospodářské zázemí centra nebo jen osady v blízkosti zázemí centra?“ Grantové agentury ČR, který byl zaměřen na poznání nejbližšího okolí a zázemí velkomoravského opevněného centra na Pohansku u Břeclavi. Pomocí povrchové prospekce, mikrosondáží i archeologického výzkumu byla zkoumána a analyzována sídelní struktura v okolí lidnatého centra a její vývoj od starohradištního do mladohradištního období (od 8. do 12. století). Kromě hledání sídelní struktury byla sledována i problematika odhadu počtu obyvatel raně středověkého centra i jeho subsistenční strategie. Původní představy o síti zemědělských osad zásobujících obyvatele velkomoravského Pohanska byly kriticky revidovány. Byl představen nový model, který vychází z absence časově shodného osídlení, pokud jsme vůbec schopni takové v archeologickém materiálu identifikovat, kritické revize konstrukčních prvků tradičního modelu a nových, či doposud přehlížených dokladů aktivní účasti obyvatel centra na zemědělské činnosti.

Sok éven kersztül tanítottam angolt és láttam, hogy a tanulók elakadnak a középhaladó előtti/középhaladó szinten. Megtanulják az alapokat és aztán nem tudnak tovább haladni. Ez a probléma igazán bosszantott, mert sok kiváló tanulóm volt, akik egyszerűen elakadtak és végül feladták. Sokáig gondolkodtam azon, hogy mi a baj és eldöntöttem, hogy nem arról van szó, hogy a tanuló nem rendelkezik a képességgel, hanem arrül van szó, hogy amit és ahogyan tanulnak, az nem hatékony.
