Apokalypsy
Apokalyptická a prorocká literatúra sa v stredoveku tešila v európskom teologickom prostredí mimoriadnej obľube. Otázky týkajúce sa prichádzajúcej katastrofy, ale aj následnej budúcnosti a najmä budúceho politického času, boli v centre stredovekého myslenia. Kniha Apokalypsy je prvým súvislejším prehľadom kľúčových textov apokalyptickej literatúry, ktorá formovala modernú politickú teológiu. Texty ako Sibyla Tiburtinská, Pseudo-Metodova apokalypsa či Danielove vízie, ktoré sme doteraz poznali len v gruzínskych, arménskych, syriackych, staroslovanských, gréckych a latinských verziách, sa konečne dočkali nie len slovenského prekladu, ale aj kritickej analýzy. Vďaka tejto analýze Michal Havran odkryl politické i náboženské motivácie ich autorov a ukázal, ako je apokalyptická literatúra úzko prepojená s politickou propagandou, túžbou získať kontrolu nad budúcnosťou a vybaviť panovníka či vládcu metafyzickým poslaním Mesiáša. Apokalyptické vízie a ich zneužívanie ako nástroja tematizovania dejín, spoločenskej mobilizácie a politickej propagandy, sú pritom aktuálne dodnes.

Devátý díl série konferenčních sborníků z řady „Korunních zemí“ je zaměřen na zemské stavy a pokusy o kodifikaci jejich vztahu k panovníkovi, který vyvrcholil schválením prvního zemského zákoníku, kodexu šlechtického práva – Vladislavského zřízení zemského – v roce 1500. Právě k vladislavské době, kdy byla moc panovníka omezena a následně v českých zemích oslabena i jeho nepřítomností a kdy si zemské stavy budují pozici reprezentantů zájmů celé země, je vztažena většina studií obsažených v knize. Admirál McRaven sloužil sedmatřicet let jako Navy SEAL a velel na všech úrovních. V hodnosti čtyřhvězdičkového admirála působil na závěr své vojenské kariéry jako velitel všech amerických speciálních jednotek. O prvním globálním teroristovi Iljiči Ramírezovi Sánchezovi, řečeném Carlos, bylo známo, že se v 70. a 80. letech 20. století pohyboval po střední a východní Evropě. But when Antwerp rebelled with the Dutch against the Spanish and lost, all that glory was buried and its true history rewritten. The city that unsettled so many now became conformist. Mutinous troops burned the city records. Michael Pye sets out to rediscover the city that was lost and bring its wilder days to life using every kind of clue: novels, paintings, songs, schoolbooks, letters and the archives of Venice, London and the Medici. He builds a picture of a city haunted by fire, plague and violence, but learning how to be a power in its own right in the world after feudalism.

Spymaster
The dramatic story of a man who stood at the center of British intelligence operations, the ultimate spymaster of World War II: Thomas Kendrick
Thomas Kendrick (1881–1972) was central to the British Secret Service from its beginnings through to the Second World War. Izrael államát a pesti Dohány utcában született Herzl Tivadar (1860-1904) álmodta meg. Annak a Deák téri evangélikus gimnáziumnak a tanulója volt, ahol még élénken élt Kossuth Lajos és a többi '48-as forradalmár emléke. Herzl az ő hatásukra vált a nemzeti gondolat elkötelezett hívévé. Zsidó volt és magyar. Újságíróként Párizsban dolgozott, és így testközelből élte meg a hírhedt Dreyfus-ügyet. Meggyőződésévé vált, hogy a zsidók üldöztetésére saját nemzetállamuk megteremtése a megoldás. Erre tette fel az életét. Álmából 1948-ban valóság lett. Megalakult Izrael. Herzl Tivadar államalapítóvá vált.
Zákon pěti klasů
Hlavním tématem knihy je uměle vyvolaný hladomor, který na Ukrajině propukl ve 30. letech minulého století poté, co Sovětský svaz připojil Ukrajinu ke svému území a zavedl zde bolševický režim.
