Jan Kaplicky Drawings
Jan Kaplicky (1937-2009) was a visionary architect with a passion for drawing. It was his way of discovering, describing and constructing; and through drawing he presented beguiling architectural imagery of the highest order. Many of his sketches, cutaway drawings and photomontages are brought together and celebrated in this book. These drawings date from the early years of his independent practice, Future Systems, in the 1970s, to his final ink drawings, executed in the mid-1990s. Featured projects range from design studies for the International Space Station, undertaken with NASA, to the Media Centre at Lord's Cricket Ground, in London, winner of the 1999 Stirling Prize.

The first section is dedicated to “Ten Divine Dalí Wines,” an overview of 10 important wine-growing regions, while the second develops Dalí’s revolutionary ordering of wine by emotional experience, instead of by geography or variety. Kniha se jmenuje Divadelní dobrodružství Voskovce a Wericha.Ne že by dosud o Voskovcovi a Werichovi knihy nevycházely, ale většinou to byly obrazové publikace , kde převládaly dobové faktografické dokumenty. Samozřejmě i tato publikace obsahuje velké množství fotografií, ale současně se zevrubně zabývá různými aspekty vzniku divadla, jeho protagonistech, omezování jejích činnosti, emigraci a opětovného návratu.Nakladatelství Petrklíč přichází tedy se zvláštní nabídkou. Čtenářům předkládá knihu od polské autorky Barbary Teresy Jankowské, která v Československu pobývala v rámci stipendia Kabinetu pro studium českého divadla a soudě podle zpracování tématu, velmi důkladně se seznámila se všemi skutečnostmi, které provázely Osvobozené divadlo a jeho hlavní herecké a tvůrčí postavy - Voskovce a Wericha. Ano, skutečně je to tak. Kniha je napsána tak brilantně a s veškerou důkladností a pečlivostí, že nejen překvapuje precizností, ale otevírá v mnoha oblastech nový pohled na oba velikány.Barbara Teresa Jankowska dokázala shromáždit materiál a sepsat knihu, která podle našeho názoru dosud v takové šíři a hloubce nevyšla. Připravila tak pro českého čtenáře nevšední požitek a velmi vhodný dárek.

Fotografická publikace shrnuje dosavadní tvorbu Aleše Formánka. Zatím svoje postřehy publikoval ve fotografických "samizdatech", vždy tematicky zaměřených (festival Trutnov, Jiráskova horská cesta, Abilympiáda, Mongolsko, Indie, Kuba...).
Tato kniha je rozdělena do čtyř kapitol, a právě ony v současné době charakterizují fotografa-samouka nejlépe: Díky Aleši Formánkovi-cestovateli, který pořizuje obrázky nejraději v zatím mnoho nenavštěvovaných koutech převážně asijských zemí, v prostředí obyčejných lidí, vznikla kapitola Na návštěvě. Monografie Ivana Sobotky (1927-2008), jednoho z nejpozoruhodnějších českých malířů druhé poloviny 20. století, vychází ve spolupráci s Galerií středočeského kraje u příležitosti výstavy umělcova díla v Kutné Hoře.Kniha představuje bezmála celé dílo Ivana Sobotky od raných olejů z padesátých let minulého století až po kvaše ze začátku druhého milénia. Podstatná část výboru patří tvářím - kvašovým portrétům neobyčejné síly, obrazům bezmála monochromním, které mluví nejprostší linkou výrazu tváře a očí.Sobotka byl výrazný duchovní umělec, jemuž se nedostávalo pozornosti, protože o žádnou nestál. Maloval zcela svobodně, a živil se proto vždy něčím jiným. Výstavy nechtěl, vernisáží se většinou neúčastnil, publicitě vzdoroval. Pojilo ho přátelství s Věrou Novákovou a Pavlem Brázdou, jejichž monografie už Argo vydalo. Inspiroval se především produkcí ultramontánní vydavatelské dílny Josefa Floriana a byl radikálním pokračovatelem portrétu románského stylu. Tradici pozdější malby bezmála zavrhl a nacházel zálibu až v moderně.
