Proměny maskulinit
Kniha Proměny maskulinit je trans-žánrovou antologií propojující pestrou mozaiku přístupů a cest k tématu maskulinit na osobní, umělecké, filozofické i vědecké rovině. Společně tak tvoříme podoby nových maskulinit. Skrze čtyřicet čtyři příspěvků se v knize setkáváme s množstvím úhlů pohledu a přístupů k tématu mužství - od vědeckých textů, rozhovorů, osobních esejů, přes autorské texty a básně až po umělecké příspěvky jako jsou kresby, fotografie nebo koláže. Fotografoval jsem hvězdy
Kniha nabízí velmi poutavé vyprávění fotografa hvězd Františka Jiráska. Tento mistr zachyceného obrazu a poslední mohykán z velkých fotografů svého oboru se věnuje této práci čtyřicet let. Díky němu má veřejnost k dispozici nejen nepřehledné moře jedinečných obrazových skvostů, ale také dobových dokumentů, které pořídil při nejrůznějších příležitostech během celé té doby. Jejich absolutní cena je bezpochyby nedostižná. Dokázal najít společnou řeč s naprostou většinou osobností, a to nejen ze šoubyznysu, a toto souznění je dodnes vzájemné. Jestliže ale zachycuje svým objektivem skutečné špičky, nelze se divit, že významnou část vlastní tvorby věnoval Karlu Gottovi. Ten totiž přijal jeho samotného i to, co dovede, také záhy. Proto může Jirásek pobavit také jako autor nejen líčením jejich společných cest po světě, ale zejména vyprávěním jak, kdy a proč fotografie vznikly, i odkud všude pocházejí zcela unikátní snímky, jež mohl pořídit jedině díky tomuto společnému srozumění. Kniha tedy není ve skutečnosti žádnou akademickou obrazovou monografii, nýbrž spíše souborem až překvapivě živých a zjevně důkladně poučených osobních reminiscencí z prostředí i situací zdaleka ne každému volně přístupných.

Japan 1900 - A Portrait in Color
The Golden Age of Travel neatly overlaps with the reign of the Emperor Meiji, which began in 1868 with the overthrow of a feudal order that had kept Japan secluded from the outside world for more than 200 years. Goodbye Russia
In 1940 Sergei Rachmaninoff, living in exile in America, broke his creative silence and composed a swan song to his Russian homeland. What happened in those final haunted years and how did he come to write his farewell masterpiece, the Symphonic Dances?
Rachmaninoff left Petrograd in the throes of the Russian Revolution in 1917. He was 44 years old, at the peak of his powers as composer-conductor-performer, moving in elite Tsarist circles and running the family estate, his refuge and solace. He had already written the music which, today, has made him one of the most popular composers of all time: the second and third Piano Concertos and two symphonies. Reeling from the trauma of a life in upheaval, he wrote almost no music and quickly had to reinvent himself as a f?ted virtuoso pianist, building up untold wealth and meeting the stars, from Walt Disney and Charlie Chaplin to his Russian contemporaries and polar opposites, Prokofiev and Stravinsky. Still, the melancholy of leaving his homeland never lifted.
