«Urbanizmus je hlboké pochopenie reality života.»
Medzi architektmi, urbanistami a územnými plánovačmi snáď v súčasnosti nenájdeme nikoho, kto by počas štúdia na Fakulte architektúry STU v Bratislave neprišiel do kontaktu s prof. Tiborom Alexym (1929 - 2018). Na Fakulte architektúry strávil vyše štyridsať rokov a patrí k legendárnym postavám tejto inštitúcie. Spoločne s kolegami Filipom Trnkusom a Jánom Kavanom sa zaradil k prvej generácii slovenských urbanistov, ktorí konštituovali pojem i renomé tzv. Bratislavskej urbanistickej školy. V teoretických prácach, ale aj projektoch Tibora Alexyho rezonovali témy ako rovnováha urbánneho a prírodného prostredia, prehodnotenie moderných urbanistických koncepcií, humanizácia sídlisk a zásahy do historickej štruktúry miest. Profesor Alexy je držiteľom viacerých ocenení, napr. Ceny D. Jurkoviča, Medaily STU, Zlatej plakety A. Stodolu, Čestného uznania Svetového kongresu UIA a Ceny Emila Belluša za celoživotné dielo.

Úvahy prof. Alexyho o pojmoch ako je urbanita, prirodzená dynamika urbanistických štruktúr či rekonštrukcia miest sú roztrúsené v odborných časopisoch, zborníkoch a skriptách. Texty nabité množstvom poznatkov, ale aj humorom, sprevádzajú archívne fotografie, najvýznamnejšie súťažné návrhy, ukážky urbanistických štúdií a projektov spoločne s jeho kresbami a akvarelmi.
Liturgický textil a způsoby jeho prezentace
Metodika přímo navazuje na předchozí metodiku s názvem Liturgické textilie a jejich památková ochrana, přičemž se zaměřuje na specifika prezentace textilií v památkově chráněných objektech (např. zámeckých kaplích) včetně zdůraznění jejich liturgické funkce (druhová skladba, církevní slavnosti). U parament s druhotně využitými světskými textiliemi jde o identifikaci jejich původní funkce a zařazení do širších kulturních souvislostí a doplnění o obrazovou dokumentaci (např. analogické vzory na šlechtických portrétech) a o zdůraznění didaktické funkce prezentace vůči návštěvníkům. Součástí metodiky jsou také shrnující kapitoly o dějinách muzejní prezentace. Další kapitoly se věnují praktickým otázkám (světelná intenzita, vlhkost, různé způsoby prezentace a jejich specifika, výhody a nevýhody, včetně přímé konfrontace se zahraničními přístupy).
Tete a tete o francúzskom umení (I) do roku 1789
Francúzske umenie prešlo do roku 1789 zložitým vývojom. Špecifický charakter nadobudlo v stredoveku, keď sa medzi múrmi kláštorov zrodila gotika. Nasledovala Škola Fontainebleau (16. storočie) sformovaná na kráľovskom dvore a Francúzska škola (17. a 18. storočie), rozvíjaná v prostredí Kráľovskej akadémie. Francúzske transfery sa uskutočňovali vojenskými a cirkevnými cestami. Nové myšlienky podnietili kultúrnu výmenu v rámci Európy. Svedčia o tom diela v Svätom Antone, Spišskej Kapitule, na Krásnej Hôrke, Červenom Kameni, v Slovenskej národnej galérii v Bratislave či Východoslovenskej galérii v Košiciach. Kniha je bedekrom francúzskeho umenia na Slovensku.
Historička umenia PhDr. Marta Herucová, Ph.D. pochádza zo starej bratislavskej rodiny. Študovala na univerzitách v Bratislave a v Olomouci. Pracuje na Ústave dejín umenia Centra vied o umení Slovenskej akadémie vied. Publikovala desiatky prác zameraných na identifikačné, ikonografické a interpretačné problémy, napr. o buste Cecílie Gonzagy v Levoči (Paríž 2021), Fantacchiottiho soche anjela v Stupave (Florencia 2021), orientálnych obrazoch v Topoľčiankach (Oxford 2020), umení okolo roku 1800 na Slovensku (Opava 2019) a ďalších. Zaujíma sa o dokumentovanie umeleckých artefaktov ako základov kultúry.

Interpretace
Interpretovat umělecká díla znamená hledat a nacházet jejich význam a smysl, odhalovat jejich napojení na naši bezprostřední zkušenost, ale zároveň přispět k jejímu obohacení, zintenzívnění a prohloubení. V tomto smyslu je interpretace tvůrčím, či dokonce riskantním počinem, k němuž neexistuje návod. Podle Zdeňky Kalnické je však možné hovořit o interpretačních strategiích, z nichž každá vychází z poněkud odlišných představ o tom, co je to umělecké dílo a jakou má funkci, každá klade důraz na jisté aspekty a interpretaci zaměřuje k určitému cíli. Ve své knize nabízí autorka interpretace konkrétních výtvarných, literárních a hudebních děl známých umělců a umělkyň, jako William Shakespeare, Božena Němcová, Karel Čapek, Salvador Dalí, Bedřich Smetana, Claude Debussy, ale i těch méně známých, jako Tan Dun, Remedios Varo, Leonora Carrington, Roy Nachum. Basquiat
The legend of Jean-Michel Basquiat is as strong as ever. Schiele
After Egon Schiele (1890-1918) freed himself from the shadow of his mentor and role model Gustav Klimt, he had just ten years to inscribe his signature style into the annals of modernity before the Spanish flu claimed his life. Being a child prodigy quite aware of his own genius and a passionate provocateur, this didn't prove to be too big a challenge.
His haggard, overstretched figures, extreme depiction of sexuality and self-portraits, in which he staged himself with emaciated facial expressions bordering between brilliance and madness, had none of the decorative quality of Klimt's hymns of love, sexuality and yearning devotion. Instead, Schiele's work spoke of a brutal honesty, one that would upset and irreversibly change Viennese society.
Although his works were later defamed as "degenerate" and for a time were almost forgotten altogether, they influenced generations of artists-from Gunter Brus and Francis Bacon to Tracey Emin. Today, his then misunderstood oeuvre continues to fetch exorbitant prices on the international art market.

Vreckový sprievodca je pomôckou pre poznávanie architektúry 20. storočia v najstaršom a najznámejšom národnom parku na Slovensku vo Vysokých Tatrách. Minulé storočie bolo storočím hospodárskeho rozvoja, zmeny spôsobu života a nebývalého populačného rastu, ktoré so sebou priniesli nové požiadavky na rozvoj miest a v prípade Vysokých Tatier aj na rozvoj stavieb pre kúpeľnú rekreáciu a oddych. Bolo to storočie testov, v ktorom sa rodili, a úspešne, ale aj neúspešne skúšali nové formy a obsahy architektúry v štýle, ktorý dnes nazývame modernizmus.

The paintings and drawings Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851) produced from 1835 to his death in 1851 are seen by many as his most audacious and compelling work, a typical example of "late style." In this study, Sam Smiles goes beyond late style, with its focus on formal qualities and assumptions about personal expression, as an explanatory framework for Turner's late works. Instead, he argues that Turner, in his final fifteen years, was an artist entirely engaged with his own times.
Smiles examines the artist's critical reception in these years and scrutinizes accounts that presumed Turner's physical and mental health collapsed in his seventies, to see what can be reliably said about his work as he aged. Emerging from this study is an artist who used his final years to consolidate the principles that had motivated him throughout his career.
Ferdinand Hložník

Autorom rozsiahlej publikácie je prof. Ľudovít Petránsky, ktorý doteraz napísal tri knihy o staršom bratovi Ferdinanda, Vincentovi Hložníkovi. Autorom citlivej grafickej úpravy je Peter Bližnák.
Prítomná monografia o živote a diele Ferdinanda Hložníka je vlastne prvou publikáciou tohto druhu v umenovednej spisbe. Kniha, ktorá má takmer štyristo strán, je zostavená z textovej a obrazovej časti, ktoré v podstatnej miere odrážajú vznik a vývoj umelcovej tvorby. Maliarova práca je citlivo interpretovaná v kontexte doby a výtvarného úsilia jeho Generácie ale aj mladších umelcov.
