Téme imerzného divadla sa venovala konferencia pod názvom Súčasná dráma a performatívny priestor: od textu k imerznému divadlu/Contemporary Drama and Performative Space: from Playwriting to Immersive Theatre, ktorá sa konala v dňoch 11. a 12. mája 2017 počas festivalu Nová dráma/New Drama, organizovalo ju Slovenské centrum AICT a Divadelný ústav. Na konferencii odzneli podnetné príspevky významných odborníkov a umelcov z Grécka, Izraela, Poľska, Kanady, Hongkongu, Číny, Japonska, Rumunska a Slovenska.
Zborník prináša výber príspevkov tých autorov, ktorí sa na danú tému zamerali najintenzívnejšie: Savas Patsalidis, Manabu Noda, Dagmar Čiripová, Joshua Sobol, Benny Lim, Michel Vais a je doplnený o zamyslenie významného britského teatrológa, pedagóga a divadelného režiséra Garetha Whita z Royal Central School of Speech and Drama University of London, ktorý sa problematike imerzného divadla venuje dlhodobo, i úvodným slovom moderátora konferencie Octaviana Saiu a zostavovateľky Vladislavy Fekete.
