Molnár Péter, a Magyar Operatőrök Társaságának (HSC) alapító tagja több mint négy
évtizedes pályafutásának ezen a pontján expedíciós dokumentumfilm forgatásait felidézve négy kontinens megannyi országába kalauzolja el az olvasót, megemlékezéseibe beleszőve a filmezés kulisszatitkait is.
A Magyar Televízió, a Duna Televízió, a ZDF, az NRK munkatársaként Molnár Belső-Ázsiától Kaliforniáig, az Északi-sarkkörön túltól Braziliáig járta kamerájával, s rögzítette a lencsén túli világot. Célja mindeközben az volt, hogy hírt vigyen a tévénézőknek a jó és a nehéz sorban élő népekről, különös tekintettel a Földünkön lakó kisebbségekre.
A szerző operatőrként, valamint ismeretterjesztő útirajzok szerzőjeként is mindenkor az embert igyekszik munkásságának középpontjába állítani. A történetmesélés filmszerű - nem véletlenül -, hiszen egy operatőr írta. Az olvasó valóban "látja" a leírtakat. Molnár nyugdíjasként is aktív, jelenleg a One Broadcast élő tv-közvetítésein dolgozik.

Kniha nabízí velmi poutavé vyprávění fotografa hvězd Františka Jiráska. Tento mistr zachyceného obrazu a poslední mohykán z velkých fotografů svého oboru se věnuje této práci čtyřicet let. Díky němu má veřejnost k dispozici nejen nepřehledné moře jedinečných obrazových skvostů, ale také dobových dokumentů, které pořídil při nejrůznějších příležitostech během celé té doby. Jejich absolutní cena je bezpochyby nedostižná. Dokázal najít společnou řeč s naprostou většinou osobností, a to nejen ze šoubyznysu, a toto souznění je dodnes vzájemné. Jestliže ale zachycuje svým objektivem skutečné špičky, nelze se divit, že významnou část vlastní tvorby věnoval Karlu Gottovi. Ten totiž přijal jeho samotného i to, co dovede, také záhy. Proto může Jirásek pobavit také jako autor nejen líčením jejich společných cest po světě, ale zejména vyprávěním jak, kdy a proč fotografie vznikly, i odkud všude pocházejí zcela unikátní snímky, jež mohl pořídit jedině díky tomuto společnému srozumění. Kniha tedy není ve skutečnosti žádnou akademickou obrazovou monografii, nýbrž spíše souborem až překvapivě živých a zjevně důkladně poučených osobních reminiscencí z prostředí i situací zdaleka ne každému volně přístupných.
