Fontana
Debuting in Milan, Fontana settled in Paris in the mid 1930s, where he joined the Abstraction-Creation group and created expressionist sculptures in ceramic and bronze. Dali, The Wines of Gala
Hot on the heels (or lobster claws) of the best-selling Salvador Dalí phenomenon, Les dîners de Gala, TASCHEN presents the artist’s equally surreal and sensual viticulture follow-up: The Wines of Gala. Dalí was by this stage a devout Catholic, simultaneously captivated by science, optical illusion, and the atomic age.
The first section is dedicated to “Ten Divine Dalí Wines,” an overview of 10 important wine-growing regions, while the second develops Dalí’s revolutionary ordering of wine by emotional experience, instead of by geography or variety. Rather than any prescriptive classification, it’s a flamboyant, free-flowing manifesto in favor of taste and feeling, as much a multisensory treat as a full-bodied document of Dalí’s late-stage oeuvre, in which the artist both reflected on formative influences and refined his own cultural legacy.

Saarinen
Sculptural Structures Eero Saarinen's new dimensions The creator of the ubiquitous Knoll "Tulip" chairs and tables, Eero Saarinen (1910-1961) was one of the 20th century's most prominent space shapers, merging dynamic forms with a modernist sensibility across architecture and design. Among Saarinen's greatest accomplishments are Washington D.C.'s Dulles International Airport, the very sculptural and fluid TWA terminal at JFK Airport in New York, and the 630 ft. (192 m) high Gateway Arch of St. Louis, Missouri, each of them defining structures of postwar America. Catenary curves were present in many of his structural designs. During his long association with Knoll, Saarinen's other famous furniture pieces included the "Grasshopper" lounge chair and the "Womb" settee. Married to Aline Bernstein Saarinen, a well-known critic of art and architecture, Saarinen also collaborated with Charles Eames, with whom he designed his first prize-winning chair. With rich illustration tracing his life and career, this architecture introduction follows Saarinen from his studies to training to his most prestigious projects, and explores how each of his designs brought a new dimension to the modernist landscape.

Wim Wenders

Preto kniha približuje aj históriu moderného kremačného hnutia v Európe so zreteľom na dlhý zápas mesta Bratislava o krematórium, ďalej sa zaoberá domácimi a zahraničnými architektonickými podnetmi, ktoré ovplyvnili architektúru objektu. Okrem príbehu samotnej budovy a urnového hája, v ktorom stojí, sa dočítate o tvorivej dráhe autora budovy, architekta Ferdinanda Milučkého, príslušníka prvej povojnovej slovenskej architektonickej generácie, ale aj súvislostiach vzniku pozoruhodných výtvarných diel z areálu krematória - sôch od troch špičkových slovenských výtvarníkov. Text Matúša Dullu v slovenčine a angličtine sprevádzajú umelecké fotografie Olje Triašky Stefanović. Snímky citlivo zachytávajú premeny krematória a prostredia, v ktorom sa nachádza, počas jednotlivých ročných období. Don Giovanni na Ovocném trhu aneb Italské árie ústy pražských pěvců
Italská opera se neustále těší velkému zájmu milovníků klasické hudby a je často využívána i v kinematografii a dalších uměleckých produkcích. Árie v libozvučné italštině tak má v povědomí mnohem širší okruh posluchačů, a každý si je může kromě divadel, koncertních síní, rozhlasu a televize vyhledat i na internetu.
