The film follows twenty-four hours in the life of troubled teen Jim Stark (James Dean), the new boy in town, who becomes drawn into a maelstrom of shifting social allegiances, emotional turmoil, and violence. Rebel tackled head-on the thorny political issue of juvenile delinquency from the perspective of the adolescents, contributed to the genesis of the teen movie, and was pivotal in bringing The Method acting style to wider audiences. Dean’s nuanced and dextrous performance as the film’s lead character was paramount in establishing the actor’s iconicity.In his study of the film, Glyn Davis foregrounds the concept of rebellion, exploring in detail what it meant to be a rebel in the 1950s, the role that cinema has played in articulating rebellion and providing a haven for rebels, and why James Dean’s archetypal depiction of a teenage rebel has endured. Each of the thirty plants is accompanied by a commentary by Eduardo Barba and a botanical illustration by Juan Luis Castillo, as well as a complete detailed reproduction of the work in the Museum.
In the words of Eduardo Barba: ‘Many works of art are full of plants. In others, they are a little more hidden. In all cases, botany is an indispensable part of the story that the artist wants to tell: there are flowers that allude to the dynasty of the person portrayed, leaves that sum up a feeling, trees that transmit to the scene qualities that are specific to them. The species chosen could be present in the artist's surroundings, even at the foot of his studio. On other occasions, however, and as a result of expeditions to different parts of the world, exotic plants from distant countries were incorporated, enriching the artistic flora, especially from the 16th century onwards. In any case, the works of art bear witness to the fascinating ability of artists to observe the natural environment, who portrayed plants with delicacy, as if they were just another character.

Of all the slasher films to appear in the 1980s, none were as brutal or would elicit as much controversy as Romano Scavolini''s Nightmare. Eggleston’s vivid photographs transform the ordinary into distinctive, poetic images that eschew fixed meaning. He pioneered the use of dye-transfer printing for art photography in the 1970s. In the early 1990s, Kodak stopped producing the dyes, paper, and film used in the process. In Projecting America, the first-ever book on these silent epic Westerns, Patrick Adamson demonstrates how these films indelibly impacted the genre, historical filmmaking, and Hollywood, inviting audiences to accept uncritical visions of Manifest Destiny as accurate history. K. Murthy’s essential contribution. She also analyses the soundtrack, composed by S. D.
