This Human
There are many great design books in existence that teach us about design process, tools and methods. With the increasing popularity of Design Thinking and Human-Centred Design we’ve also seen more material discussing various aspects of the practice. One missing aspect, almost in an ironic twist, is what it takes to be the actual person who is doing the designing. The name THIS HUMAN is referring to that person. The person who needs to observe to gain insight, to makes sense of their observations in a way that isn’t biased by their own world views. The person who needs to communicate in many different ways with many different intentions to communicate information which is often hard to access, difficult to grasp and just not that tangible. The person who is so passionate about having a positive impact they become exhausted one third of the way into their project. I wrote this book to help these people learn more about themselves and how to think and be in their practice of design?to help them grasp all that is going on inside that then influences their creations.

Pavel Jurkovič (1933–2015) byl významný český hudebník, zpěvák, skladatel, pedagog a popularizátor lidových písní.
Karl Blossfeldt: Masterworks
Karl Blossfeldt (1865–1932) was a great pioneer of botanical photography, yet he was neither a professional photographer nor a botanist. A professor at the Academy of Applied Arts in Berlin, he was a sculptor and amateur photographer, and his interest in the plant world was originally educational. Fascinated by the structure of plants, whose apparently artistic forms were created by biological expediency, he realized that photography could be a useful teaching tool, allowing his students to see and compare many natural forms. Blossfeldt worked with a homemade camera and gathered and photographed his own plant samples, magnifying them by up to 45 times. From around 1898 onwards, he shot some 6,000 images, which he used primarily as visual aids in his classes. Eventually published as Art Forms in Nature (1928) and Art Forms in Nature, Second Series (1932), his photographs had a lasting impact on the art of his day and were enthusiastically embraced by both the Surrealists and the New Objectivity movement. His books brought him overnight fame and are still considered landmarks in the history of art and photography. This volume brings together a remarkable collection of Blossfeldt’s strikingly austere yet poetic portraits of plants, capturing their timeless beauty in intimate detail.

Nedivadlo Ivana Vyskočila
Kniha mapuje aktivity Nedivadla (1963–1990), které patřilo k nejpodstatnějším a nejosobitějším scénám Československa po druhé světové válce. Založil je „otec české ne/divadelní alternativy“ Ivan Vyskočil (1929) poté, co v Redutě provozoval s Jiřím Suchým legendární text-appealy, a poté, co spoluzaložil a vedl Divadlo Na zábradlí.
Nedivadlo se profilovalo jako scéna, kde se důsledně rozvíjelo narativní divadlo a kde ky´ženy´m modelem bylo divadlo ve stavu zrodu, divadlo vznikající z autentického setkání, divadlo jako společná dílna a laboratoř a zejména divadlo jako otevřená dramatická hra (zjednodušeně: improvizace). Ivan Vyskočil se tak stal unikátním česky´m představitelem světové divadelní alternativy (druhá divadelní reforma), s tou vy´sadou, že v jeho chudém divadle převažovala veselá chudoba, přesněji ludičnost a absurdita, nad ctnou askezí. Pravidelnými spolupracovníky Nedivadla byli Pavel Bošek, Leoš Suchařípa, Josef Podaný, Josef Škvorecký ad., později Přemysl Rut, Vlasta Špicnerová, Barbora Hocková či Otakar Roubínek.
Kniha je hlavním a přímým zdrojem poznání Nedivadla. Obsahuje především sedm her Ivana Vyskočila: Poslední den, Meziřeči, Křtiny v Hbřbvích aneb Blbá hra, Proč Karolína volala dru Baxovi? (Evokace), HAPRDÁNS neboli HAmlet PRinc DÁNSký ve zkratce, Cesta do Úbic (divadelní + rozhlasová verze). A dále studie, recenze, rozhovory, polemiky, vzpomínky, bibliografii, summary. První vydání (1996) připravil Přemysl Rut, druhé doplnil Michal Čunderle. Oproti prvnímu vydání je rozšířeno o dvě hry, dvě studie a desítky fotografií. Graficky upravili Otakar Karlas a Jan Zich. 480 stran tištěného textu, 88 stran fotografií.

Kniha „Dělat okna tam, kde dříve byly zdi“ se věnuje současné evropské figurativní malbě ze sbírky předního českého sběratele Roberta Runtáka. Je rozdělená do tří hlavních částí zpracovaných třemi autory, které se věnují jak stěžejním tendencím sbírky samotné, tak sběratelství a v neposlední řadě také osobě sběratele a jeho pomyslné cestě k sběratelství a umění jako takovému. Kniha má však i ambici k obecným přesahům. Především text britské historičky umění Jane Nealové Odcizený jedinec, ztráta sebe sama a otázka lidskosti je pozoruhodným exkurzem nejen do problematiky současné figurativní malby, ale také jistou úvahou nad současným stavem našeho bytí. Published in collaboration with the MAK Vienna and LE STANZE DEL VETRO on the occasion of the exhibition in Venice, this volume presents over 300 works from the collection of the MAK Austrian Museum of Applied Arts/Contemporary Art in Vienna and private collections. It focuses, for the first time, on the history of glassmaking in Austria from 1900 to 1937, a period spanning the last decades of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the First Republic.
In the early twentieth century, a group of young architects, designers, and fine arts and architecture students developed a special interest in the process of glassmaking. They paved the way to the first pioneering developments in twentieth-century glass production as they gained a thorough understanding of the material. The collaboration between architects and designers created the style of Viennese glass, found in new projects such as the Wiener Werkstätte or the Austrian Werkbund.
