Děj hry začíná v momentě, kdy k profesorovi současných dějin přichází na návštěvu záhadná stará žena, která o sobě tvrdí, že si ji jako želvu odvezl z Galapág Charles Darwin. Autoři - učitelé, kurátoři a výtvarníci přepsali moderní dějiny do několika vět a bublin a rozstříhali staré učebnice, aby reprodukce obrazů vytvořily co nejvěrnější kulisy pro osudy jejich tvůrců. Kniha obsahuje 13 příběhů, které s vtipem přibližují díla moderního umění žákům vyššího stupně základních a středních škol, a stává se tak vhodnou pomůckou v rukou učitele či rodiče. Kniha podrobne, profesionálne a výtvarne na vysokej úrovni mapuje mariánske a trojičné stĺpy. Kolektív autorov niekoľko rokov študoval tieto existujúce, a tiež aj zaniknuté kultúrne pamiatky, čo nakoniec vyústilo do mimoriadne pútavej knihy, tak pre laikov ako aj odborníkov v oblasti pamiatkovej ochrany.
V prvej časti sa kniha problematike venuje všeobecne, druhá časť je zameraná na skúmanie týchto pamiatok v Trnavskom kraji. Publikácia vznikala počas uplynulých troch rokov, pracovalo na nej viacero odborníkov z oblasti umenia, pamiatkovej ochrany, reštaurovania a pod.
Mariánske a trojičné stĺpy v premenách času je prvou monografiou venovanou votívnym exteriérovým sochárskym pamiatkam nachadzajúcim sa na území Slovenska. Približuje historické okolnosti ich vzniku a výskytu, použité architektonické formy a ikonografiu sochárskej výzdoby.
