Frescoes
The fresco - a painting on fresh plaster - is a technique of wall painting used since antiquity. Frescoes serve a wide variety of purposes: In churches as a Bible in pictures and for the representation of the life of saints or the truths of faith; in town halls they depict the ideals of a city government, in castles and palaces the appreciation of art and the sovereign virtues of the sponsors. This volume is devoted to frescoes and other impressive wall and ceiling paintings from the Romanesque period to the 19th century.
Renaissance 1420 - 1600
During the origin of Renaissance painting in Italy, a world view was revived that enabled man to determine his own existence. In painting, new themes developed along with an orientation toward representing reality. This naturalism was influenced by Dutch painting from around 1450, and as the fifteenth century transitioned into the sixteenth, Rome followed Florence as the center of the Renaissance. Shortly thereafter, the new style radiated to other countries. In northern Europe, the Renaissance combined with late medieval currents, which also placed earthly existence at the center of attention. Renaissance 1420-1600 shows with more than 400 works an overview of the most important paintings of the era.

Norguet has a privileged relationship with both the production tool and
the beauty of shapes. Harnessing his sense of colors, formal reserve,

humor that embodies the object.His career took a lasting turn in 2000
when Giulio Cappellini noticed his famous Rainbow Chair, which is now
featured in the collection of the MOMA in New York. Since then, he has
been drawing for major designers such as Capellini, Poltrona Frau,
Cassina, Tacchini, Hermes, Tolix, Artifort, Pedrali, and Ethimo.
"Whom for? What for? How?"
By answering these essential questions, Norguet humbly assumes the
defining role of the industrial designer, nourished by a practice he
experiences as an exploration of different forms of company cultures. "Without
going as far as to imply that my work is political, my ultimate goal
remains the creation of a product that functions. A fair, honest product
in line with the sociology of its era." Norguet primarily sees
design as a collective and innovative approach in which his assembled

Multimedialita kaligrafických inspirací ve světovém kontextu a českém umění po roce 1945
Knižní studie se věnuje tématu kaligrafických inspirací v kontextu světových a českých dějin umění. Inspirace v oblasti čínské nebo japonské kaligrafie totiž výraznou měrou přispěly k rozvoji mezioborových přístupů, zejména v souvislosti s hledáním společných východisek malířské a básnické tvorby, ale také v prolínání výtvarného umění s hudební, taneční nebo filmovou oblastí. Kniha se věnuje charakteristice dvou jednotících prvků kaligrafie – motivu kruhu a spirály. Zkoumá především to, jak umění vyjadřuje ontologický význam tělesnosti a cirkularity těla prostřednictvím uvolnění malířského gesta, rozvíjení performativních projevů a fyzického propojení umělce s dílem. Další důležitou problematikou je periodické obnovování historického času, které se ukazuje být zásadní pro moderní i současné umělecké uvažování. Kruh jako symbol začátku – výchozí bod filozofického myšlení nebo vzniku uměleckého díla – v sobě zároveň obsahuje návaznost, cyklické opakování uměleckého, historického či sociopolitického kontextu.
Pavel Šešulka - Fotografie
Fotografické dílo Pavla Šešulky (*1945) vznikalo pouhé jedno desetiletí – v osmdesátých letech minulého století. Fotografii se sice věnoval dočasně, avšak s velkým nasazením, které je pro něj typické. S podobnou vášní byl v mládí profesionálním zpěvákem populárních písní, později rybářem, akvaristou, amatérským malířem a řezbářem. Publikace podává svědectví o jeho fotografické tvorbě, kterou v úvodní eseji Petr Klimpl zasazuje jak do životního rámce autora, tak do dobového kontextu fotografie.
Vedle začátečnických prací Pavla Šešulky přináší kniha ukázky z cyklu Lidé z města (před r. 1986), městské momentky, které se svým pojetím vymykají obvyklému frontálnímu snímání a vyjadřují osamělost městského člověka mezi jinými lidmi. Silně expresivní soubor z prostředí diagnostického ústavu mládeže s názvem Pasťák (před r. 1987) působivě dokládá dobovou iluzi komunistického režimu o výchově, resp. „převýchově“. Vrchol Šešulkovy fotografické tvorby tvoří soubor Zátiší (před r. 1990). Tento žánr, bohatě rozvinutý v klasické malbě, tradičně symbolizuje marnost, pomíjivost – vanitas, a v české fotografii je silně zastoupen v dílech Josefa Sudka a Jana Svobody. Pavel Šešulka ve svém skromném ateliéru sestavoval z běžně dostupných materiálů kompozice se symbolickými obsahy, které fotografoval, a vytvářel tak experimentální obrazy přesahující realistické zobrazování směrem k fantazijním světům.
V osmdesátých letech minulého století byly fotografie Pavla Šešulky opakovaně vysoce hodnoceny na dobových přehlídkách amatérské fotografie a publikovány ve fotografických časopisech. Jsou uloženy ve sbírce Moravské galerie v Brně a ve sbírce Svazu českých fotografů v Praze.
