A sorozatban eddig bemutatott mesterek között korban hozzánk legközelebb álló, Magyarországon mégis a legkevésbé ismert, munkásságával nem szülőföldjét, hanem a Távol-Kelet világvárosát, Sanghajt gazdagító Hudec László (1893 Besztercebánya, - 1893 Berkeley, 1958) a huszadik századi építészet történetének legjelentősebb alkotói közé tartozik. Szmrecsány (szlovák Smrecany) szlovákiai kisközség a Zsolnai kerületben, a Liptószentmiklósi járásban. Liptószentmiklóstól északi irányban 5 km-re fekszik, a Magas-Tátra nyugati lábánál, a Smrecanka patak két partján. A laza szerkezetű, nagyobb kiterjedésű Szmrecsány a szomszédos, zártabb, egyutcás Zsárral (Ziar) mára teljesen egybeépült [...] Környéke ma is kedvelt kirándulóhely.
[...] Szmrecsány a XIII. században keletkezhetett [...] A XIX. Századig itt birtokos Szmrecsányi család névadó faluja ... Gótikus stílusú, XIV. századi katolikus temploma mellé csak 1880-ban épült lutheránus templom a falu többségi evangélikusai számára.
