Když autorka jako proslulá operní pěvkyně, která měla odmalička „zlato v hrdle“, ztratila hlas, pochopila, že v pedagogice zpěvu není něco v pořádku. Poznala, že je to především samotné pojetí hlasu a tónu jako něčeho hmotného. A pokud je mylné toto pojetí, musí být nutně chybný i přístup praktikovaný ve školách zpěvu. Důsledkem je pak poškození a nakonec ztráta hlasu. – Vytvořila proto vlastní školu, která je ve svém pojetí a přístupu zcela odlišná a zcela nová, školu, v níž hlas není cvičen, ale odhalován.
