Stephen Shore - Survey
Stephen Shore has had a significant influence on multiple generations of artists and photographers. Even for the youngest photographers working today, his work remains an ongoing and indisputable reference point. This book copublished with Fundación MAPFRE in conjunction with the first-ever retrospective exhibition, includes over 250 images that span Shores impressive and productive career. The images range from 1969 to 2013, with series such as Early Works, Amarillo, New York City, American Surfaces, and Uncommon Places, among others. Stephen Shore: Survey elucidates Shores contributions, as well as the historiographical interpretations of his work that have influenced photographic culture over the past four decades. Mikuláš Galanda patrí k zakladateľským osobnostiam moderného slovenského výtvarného umenia 20. storočia. Už od svojich začiatkov bol výborný kresliar a zostal ním v celej svojej tvorbe. Počas svojho krátkeho života stihol vytvoriť stovky grafických listov, bibliofílií, knižných ilustrácií a mnohých ďalších diel. "Forever Now "presents the work of 17 artists whose paintings reflect a singular approach that characterizes our cultural moment at the beginning of this new millennium--they refuse to allow us to define, or even meter our time by them. This phenomenon was first identified by the science fiction writer William Gibson, who used the term "atemporality" to describe a cultural product that paradoxically doesn't represent, through its style, its content or its medium, the time from which it comes. Meiselas joined Magnum Photos in 1976 and has worked as a freelance photographer since then.

Kostel Panny Marie na Pražském hradě
Kostel Panny Marie na Pražském hradě patřil k nejhledanějším památkám Čech již od druhé poloviny 19. století. Do bouřlivé názorové výměny nad jeho polohou a významem se postupně zapojili snad všichni přední znalci raného středověku. Mariánský svatostánek totiž naposledy zmiňuje tzv. Dalimilova kronika, jejíž vznik bývá zpravidla kladen nedlouho za rok 1300. O něco později kostel zanikl a jeho poloha upadla v zapomnění. Objevit se jej podařilo až výzkumem, který roku 1950 vedl Ivan Borkovský. Nevelký objekt zakončený apsidou o rozměrech zhruba 7,5 × 6 m byl však natolik poničen, že se jeho původní podoba i stavební vývoj vzpírají jednoznačné interpretaci. Osmička archeologů, historiků, lingvistů, religionistů a uměleckých historiků (Iva Adámková, Nora Berend, Jiří Dynda, Jan Frolík, Jana Maříková-Kubková, Dalibor Prix, Ivo Štefan a Martin Wihoda) se nyní zamýšlí nad možnostmi a mezemi výkladu a pokouší se provázat Borkovského objev s christianizací Čechů.
Gypsy Music
Gypsies have for centuries been simultaneously vilified and romanticized—associated with criminality and dirt, but at the same time with color, magic, and music. Gypsy music is popular around the world and often performed with gusto at major events, including at weddings in Bulgaria, jazz bars in Paris, and festivals in the United States.
In Gypsy Music, Alan Ashton-Smith explores why this music has such wide appeal, surveying the varied styles that are considered to be gypsy music and asking what links them together. The book begins in the Balkans, home to the world’s largest Romani populations and a major site of gypsy music production. But just as the traditionally nomadic Roma have traveled globally, so has their music. Gypsy music styles have roots and associations outside of the Balkans, including Russian Romani guitar music, flamenco and gypsy jazz, and the more recent forms of gypsy punk and Balkan beats.

The paintings of Albert Oehlen live by audacious strategies, by questioning the image and the rules of abstraction, and by an openness and beauty often reached through the unlikeliest of means.
In this expansive monograph, we meet the full range of Oehlen's artistic thoughts and approaches paintings that integrate mirrors, paintings that are executed strictly in primary colors or only in gray, heavily pixelated paintings produced with the help of one of the first personal computers. We find collaged fragments of garish poster ads on canvases that transforming screaming slogans into abstract elements, charcoal drawings the size of a wall, finger paintings, and paintings in which black treelike silhouettes contort themselves into a lexicon of abstract forms. Throughout, Oehlen transforms the conceptual into the compositional, at once invigorating and challenging the viewer.
Revising and updating TASCHEN's previous Collector's Edition, this revelatory survey explores Oehlen's trajectory from his early days up to the present. It features more than 400 paintings as well as insightful commentaries and interviews, covering Oehlen's different work stages and approaches.
