Talamon saw it all during the golden age of soul, R&B, and funk. Chromolitografie byla v době své slávy v druhé polovině 19. století exkluzivní a náročnou technikou vícebarevného soutisku, využívajícího principu sčítání barev a optického efektu tiskového bodu. Její role se však v průběhu vývoje proměňovala od reprodukční techniky s ambicemi takřka imitovat malířská díla, přes využití jako svébytného média na poli reklamy až po ryze služebnou funkci v exaktní vědecké ilustraci nebo v podobě často esteticky pokleslých užitkových merkantilních tisků, které chromolitografii přinesly pejorativně vnímané označení barvotisk. Právě tento aspekt v umělecko-historických disciplínách na dlouhou dobu neprávem deklasoval výjimečná díla, zejména reklamní plakáty, ale i diplomy, či kalendáře, která touto náročnou technikou vznikla.

Minka.Vilemína Podhajská (1881-1963)
Osobnost Minky Podhajské zůstávala doposud mimo hlavní zájem o výtvarnou tvorbu žen počátku 20. století, možná i proto, že polovinu života prožila ve Vídni, kde se narodila a získala výtvarné vzdělání. její umělecké schopnosti zahrnovaly širokou škálu: byla malířkou, kreslířkou, ilustrátorkou hraček, návrhářkou keramických souprav - zkoušela všechno, co nejprve škola a později praxe poskytovala. Dcera českých rodičů mluvila česky, německy, francouzsky, anglicky, hrála ochotnické divadlo, zpívala, milovala cestování. První světovou válku prožila ještě ve Vídni a záhy po jejím skončení, po rozpadu Rakouska-Uherska, odešla do Prahy. Minka Podhajská spojovala dva světy - vídeňský a český: ještě v době, kdy žila ve Vídni, se aktivně zapojovala i do dění na české scéně, pracovala pro Artěl a Hořické hračkářské družstvo. Po svém přestěhování do Československa se stala profesorkou, profesionálně se věnovala návrhářství hraček a malbě. Byla komplexní umělkyní, schopnou pracovat v mnoha oborech. Adolf Matura
Adolf Matura (1921-1979), výrazná osobnost československého sklářského umění a designu, se zásadně podílel na podobě užitkového a dekorativního skla padesátých až sedmdesátých let minulého století. Studoval v ateliéru profesora Karla Štipla na pražské Uměleckoprůmyslové škole. Po krátkém působení jako samostatný rytec skla začal v roce 1952 působit jako designér v Ústředním výtvarném středisku pro průmysl skla a jemné keramiky. Se svými návrhy se zúčastnil významných mezinárodních přehlídek užitého umění XI. Trienále v Miláně v roce 1957 a světové výstavy Expo 58 v Bruselu. Roku 1959 se stal vedoucím výtvarníkem oboru skla v nově vzniklém Ústavu bytové a oděvní kultury (ÚBOK) v Praze. Jako zkušený designér vytvořil množství návrhů foukaného, broušeného i hutně tvarovaného skla, především se ale zaměřil na sklo lisované, jehož vývoj progresivně ovlivnil jak z výtvarného, tak z technologického hlediska.
Kniha představuje Maturovu tvorbu od raných autorských ryteckých prací, které v letech 1957 až 1960 úspěšně reprezentovaly moderní československé sklo na mezinárodních výstavách užitého umění a skla, po sochařsky řešené lisované vázy z let šedesátých a sedmdesátých, jimiž podstatně ovlivnil a obohatil výtvarnou podobu sériové produkce užitkového i dekorativního skla.

Monografia je o majstrovskom spojení obrazu a slova, o svete vizuálnej komunikácie. Aj v tejto širokej oblasti nie je jednoduché hľadať a rozlišovať hodnoty. Prezentované dielo Dušana Juneka (1943) je nielen v našom, ale i medzinárodnom kontexte grafického dizajnu výnimočné, o to viac, že umelcova tvorba v najlepších rokoch bola na dlhý čas vynútene prerušená a napriek tomu dosiahla mimoriadne umelecké vrcholy prijaté s uznaním a ocenením vo svete. Monografia je obsažnou kombináciou rozsiahlej umelcovej tvorby s radom textov a komentárov odborníkov o jeho diele, životných peripetiách autora i ojedinelej vôli a konzistentnosti morálnych postojov tohto tvorcu. Publikácia má 400 strán, je v nej 700 autorových diel a dokumentačných obrázkov, obsahuje 600 menných položiek v indexe, textami sa na nej podieľalo 40 odborníkov, predovšetkým zahraničných. V uvedenej podobe nám umožňuje nahliadnuť do laboratória tvorivého ducha špičkového autora a poodhaliť alchýmiu širokého odboru grafického dizajnu, zohrávajúceho kľúčovú úlohu v komunikácii dnešného sveta. Je tak zrkadlom našej doby druhej polovice 20. a začiatku 21. storočia i dokumentom nie jednoduchého osudu človeka i tvorcu na prelome tisícročí. Monografia je adresovaná nielen odbornej komunite, ale netradičnou koncepciou oslovuje záujemcov umenia, dizajnu, včítane mladých adeptov vizuálnej tvorby.
We Love Shooting
V roce 2023 uvedl autorský kolektiv tvořený divadelní skupinou 8lidí a umělcem Jiřím Žákem v galerii Display divadelní inscenaci We Love Shooting, které je věnována tato publikace. Samotnou inscenaci bere jako výchozí bod pro širší úvahy nad tématy hry, například historií československého a českého zbrojního průmyslu a jeho exportem do zemí globálního Jihu nebo úzkým vztahem se Sýrií v období reálného socialismu. Kromě autorské reflexe tvůrčích strategií při vytváření dokumentárního divadla, které zpracovává komplikované otázky, se kniha z perspektivy disciplín, jako je umělecký výzkum, historiografie, sociologie vizuální kultury či politologie dotýká „našeho“ postoje ke zbraním, válce, militarizaci, geopolitice nebo uprchlictví. We Love Shooting vede polemický dialog s představou Česka jako nenásilné, mírumilovné země, kde žijí lidé s „holubičí“ povahou. Jak se tato představa snoubí s realitou robustního zbrojního průmyslu, který má u nás tradici už od 19. století? Co a proč vyvážíme za hranice? A kde vlastně bydlí násilí?

Considered to be one of the greatest painters alive and credited to have revived Figuration in a time when Abstraction ruled the art world, the German artist started to explore different print techniques beginning in 1964, and never stopped to see them as an integral part of his work. Pavel Tasovský
Monografie Jaroslava Maliny a dalších autorů (mezi nimi herec Boleslav Polívka nebo architekt David Vávra) věnovaná životu a dílu uměleckého kováře, sochaře, kreslíře a fotografa Pavla Tasovského sleduje dráhu umělce od let jeho mladosti. Pavel Tasovský se narodil 22. listopadu 1960 v Brně. Při volbě životní dráhy byl ovlivněn svým otcem, který byl malířem, restaurátorem a vůbec všestranným výtvarníkem. Přirozený talent rozvíjel důkladným řemeslným a uměleckým školením. Pronikal do tajů tradičních kovářských metod a díky své zručnosti a kreativitě se podílel na realizaci významných zakázek pro důležité objekty moravské architektury (například Malovaný dům v Třebíči, hrad Špilberk, Moravské zemské muzeum, poutní kostel ve Křtinách). Záhy se také prosadil svými originálními artefakty na výstavách a kovářských sympoziích Hefaiston. Tyto úspěchy a ohlasy jej v roce 1989 přivedly k založení umělecké kovářské dílny a ateliéru v Náměšti nad Oslavou. V průběhu doby zde vznikla řada znamenitých děl do historických objektů i současné architektury, která krášlí naše i zahraniční lokality (Belgie, Itálie, Německo, Rakousko, Švýcarsko, USA aj.). Ateliér se stal také školicím pracovištěm pro adepty uměleckého kovářství a sochařství, z nichž se mnozí stali významnými představiteli oboru. Přitom se stále intenzivněji a úspěšněji věnoval volné tvorbě, kterou prezentoval na uměleckých sympoziích, výstavách a stážích u nás a v zahraničí.
Jako osobnost uznávaná a respektovaná předními českými i zahraničními uměleckými kováři i historiky a kritiky umění, se podílí na organizaci uměleckého a společenského života. Od roku 2003 pořádá společně s kastelánem náměšťského zámku Markem Bušem výstavy Setkání v zámku, zámeckém parku a v Galerii 12, kterou vede "jeho Charis", manželka Ludmila Tasovská.
Volnou tvorbu Pavla Tasovského charakterizuje invence při volbě témat (mytologických, antropomorfních, zoomorfních...), originalita jejich ztvárnění a dokonalé zpracování užitých materiálů (corten, nerez, ocel, roxor a další tvárné kovy, kámen, sklo). Od počátku dává průchod svému laskavě humornému pohledu na svět. Jeho artefakty a monumenty, ztvárňované až s dadaistickou hravostí a groteskností, jsou prosyceny hlubokou imaginací a bezbřehou, téměř surrealistickou fantazií. V proudu času se však stále více oprošťoval od kultivovaných ladných linií virtuózně opracovaných materiálů a směřoval k zjednodušení formy a využití přirozenosti materiálu, až archetypálního vyznění. Neznamená to však, že by autor na svůj původní styl rezignoval, i v současné době volí ten z přístupů, který si daný námět vyžaduje. Tvorbě v konečném materiálu předchází brilantní přípravná kresba, obvykle v tužkové skice. K jeho emblematickým tématům patří "zvěrokruh"; ztvárnil jej v několika cyklech, jež v roce 2023 vyvrcholily monumentálním souborem, který je jako "naučná cesta" instalován v Náměšti nad Oslavou. Tasovského dílo se vyznačuje vyzrálou řemeslnou zručností a nespoutanou uměleckou kreativitou; to ho řadí mezi nejvýznamnější představitele oboru uměleckého kovářství a sochařství v kovu ve světovém měřítku.
