Jde o jedny z nejpozoruhodnějších kultur v dějinách lidstva: na křižovatce východního křesťanského a íránského světa se minimálně od sedmého do třináctého století rodily umělecké projevy, které v sobě nemají nic provinčního a svou kvalitou a rozmanitostí často převyšují produkci staré Evropy. Poválečná architektura jako památka
Na stavby postavené v letech 1945–1989 stále ještě nepanuje jednotný názor. Přitom již od jejich vzniku uplynulo několik desítek let, tedy doba, kterou odborná i širší veřejnost často podmiňuje nárok na památkovou ochranu. Cílem publikace je přiblížit roli Národního památkového ústavu (NPÚ) v péči o poválečnou architekturu a objasnit výzvy a problémy, kterým v této oblasti čelí. Katalog stejnojmenné výstavy je členěn do několika kapitol podle charakteru činností NPÚ, k nimž patří vytipovávání potenciálních nových památek, vedení jejich seznamu a v neposlední řadě také dozor při rekonstrukcích. Hlavní část katalogu pak pojednává o pražském metru, jemuž se autoři věnovali v rámci výzkumu v posledních letech. Soustředí se na původní architektonické řešení tohoto nejrozsáhlejšího veřejného interiéru, který v období normalizace v Československu vznikl, a na jeho památkový potenciál. Posláním publikace je rozšířit povědomí o hodnotách nedávné, ale rychle mizející architektonické vrstvy.

Půlstoletí s Cimrmanem, 2. vydání
Unikátní knížka, která vychází při příležitosti padesáti let Divadla Járy Cimrmana, přibližuje obrazem i textem neznámou tvář nejslavnějšího českého divadelního souboru. Zdeněk Svěrák bilancuje jeho historii formou soukromého dopisu Ladislavu Smoljakovi a každý člen divadla přidal svou nejživější vzpomínku. Čtenář se tak dozví, jak se přihodilo, že se Petr Brukner narodil ve dvou městech současně, čeho nejhoršího se dopustil Miloň Čepelka a jaký je největší herecký problém Miroslava Táborského. Pro fanoušky Járy Cimrmana bude překvapením, že souborem prošla řada známých osobností, jako Jiří Menzel, Jiří Stivín nebo Jaroslav Uhlíř, a že v tomto zdánlivě ryze mužském divadle nechybějí ani ženy. Umělecká monografie předního českého představitele tzv. konkrétního umění a strukturální malby Pavla Hayeka (nar. 1959). Když zazní tóny kytar tří
Ať už jsem působil dlouhá léta jako pedagog na hudebních školách či přes 40 let hrají se skupinou Stará škola a hostuji v různých hudebních seskupeních, vždy mne fascinovala souhra více muzikantů, kdy každý přináší do díla svůj vlastní přínos, pohled a feeling. To je v podstatě neocenitelná záležitost, protože se tak vytváří prvek celistvosti výrazu z různých osobností a vzniká tak ojedinělé vyznění. Cyklus Když zazní tóny kytar tří... tak představuje skladby Jízda tří králů, Setkání v pátek odpoledne a Než se setmí. První z nich, Jízda tří králů se opírá o vzájemnou podporu jednotlivých partů, kdy se i při sólových vstupech projevuje společná cesta tří králů za nadějí, za obzor. Cesta nemusí probíhat vždy v klidu, ale jsou zde jak náznaky překážek, tak i náhlá uvolnění a konečná radost z dosaženého cíle… Druhá, Setkání v pátek odpoledne přímo rezonuje situaci, kdy se již po pracovním týdnu již v klidu, po napětí sejdou kytaristé (třeba někde pod lipou v parku, na zápraží, ve zkušebně…), jeden z nich nahodí téma a ostatní se připojují svými nápady. Skladba je postavena na ostinátních postupech, které jsou obcházeny harmoniemi základního nápadu. Ve druhé části jsou vrstveny akordické polohy, které také vycházejí z původního motivu, představují další přístup zpracování tématu (jak bývá obvyklé u spolupráce více muzikantů) a vyúsťuje ve finále, kde se všichni sejdou. Třetí skladba cyklu, Než se setmí, evokuje tu tajemnou část dne, kdy slunce se dotýká obzoru, rozsvěcují se světla ulic, domů a aut a celý rytmus se z toho cvalu všedního dne se ještě chvilku drží a rázem se převaluje do hávu noci…
A co takto?
Během své pedagogické praxe na hudebních školách jsem si osvojil jedno pravidlo – žák musí hrát. Jsem přesvědčen, že víte, jak to myslím. Hrát, umět si zahrát, to je základ. Na tom se dá stavět. A další věc, která se mi vždy líbila, je hra vza druh souboru, ať už jakéhokoli složení. Koneckonců, přes 40 let hraní s kapelou po pódiích a studiích nelze ani v tomto segmentu akustické, klasické kytary nijak pominout. A žáci, žáci to přijímali vždy dychtivě. A tady je právě to proč... Proč jsem přistoupil k rozpisu a úpravě vybraných skladeb, které jsou součástí tohoto prvního dílu cyklu ...a co takto? Za prvé jsem vždy chtěl, aby se žáci co nejdříve dostali k těm krásným skladbám Vietorisova kodexu, Nicolause Lebendorfa a dalších. Díky rozpisům skladeb do tří kytar se tak doba, kdy mohl žák přistoupit k interpretaci těchto děl, výrazně zkrátila. Za druhé děti tak dříve viděly další výsledek svého snažení, navíc si procvičily souhru a dostaly se tak dříve k těmto krásným, podnětným skladbám. A skutečnost, že je to za třetí v dalších letech inspirovalo zahrát si tyto věci samy je jenom ten správný bonus… Takže ať už to hrají tři žáci (třeba z různých ročníků), nebo učitel a dva žáci apod. – to je jedno.
Za hradbami tvrze
Jednoduše? Mám rád středověk, mám rád genius loci, když se přijde mezi zdi starých tvrzí, hradů, zřícenin, mám rád tu náladu, která se dostává hudbou do mysli muzikanta, posluchače. Středověk je líčen všemi možnými pohledy, barevně či černobíle, zasmušile podzimně či jásavě jarně, poklidně či bouřlivě, mírně a romanticky či tvrdě a nesmlouvavě realisticky – ale pořád je to doba, ze které pramení moře myšlenek, idejí, nálad, pocitů a obrazů. Cyklus Za hradbami tvrze přináší deset skladeb. V ukázkách jsem zvolil někde více loutnový zvuk, někde více zvuk klasické nylonové kytary a to jen proto, aby více vynikla atmosféra názvu cyklu. Menuet, Intrada či Tanec nanášejí obraz malé slavnosti v kamenných prostorách tvrzí, Zimní pohádka je vhled do tiché nálady zasněžených plání, Loučí svit je předznamenání závěrečné skladby ...často svíce jen plá, která je určitým vyvrcholením cyklu a ukazuje na tmu, prosvícenou světlem naděje. Pod září hvězd a Praporec vidíme zase pohledy z hlásky do noci středověku, Stará tvrz vychází z nálady osamělosti v krajině a Na obzoru se stmívá poukazuje na nebezpečí, které se vkrádá do krajiny…

While paintbrushes on canvas and hands on clay are very familiar to me after a long life as an artist, this is a new domain. It might seem like photography, but it is not. This is promptography. Artists have used digital tools for a long time, retouching images to perfection. My method with AI is not to retouch or fix the broken. Instead, I work like an archaeologist, exploring and combining themes and fragments to images hitherto unseen. These images were conjured from the sum of human experience in our deep collective well.
