Nádej je tá vec s perím / Hope Is the Thing With Feathers
Tento výber je reedíciou knihy Pre krásu umrela som (2017), iba názov sme mu dali nový. Obsahuje tiež to najpodstatnejšie z korešpondencie E. Dickinsonovej s literátom T. W. Higginsonom. V týchto listoch sa priam ukážkovo zrkadlí Dickinsonovej práca so slovom a štýlom, jej enigmatickosť, ale aj túžba dozvedieť sa, či jej „verše sú živé“.
Prekladateľ Milan Richter navštívil Amherst, dom a hrob E. Dickinsonovej, ako aj jej archív v Amherst College v máji 1990 a odvtedy ešte vzrástol jeho záujem o život a tvorbu poetky. Výsledkom jeho štúdia Dickinsonovej listov, monografií o nej a ďalšej sekundárnej literatúry, ale aj prekladov do dánčiny, nórčiny či nemčiny je výber Nádej je tá vec s perím. Predkladáme ho čitateľom v nádeji, že Dickinsonovej mnohovrstevnatá poézia sa prihovára ponad oceán času a priestoru priamo od srdca k srdcu, od mysle k mysli, od tvorivej imaginácie k fantázii vôbec, bez ktorej by sme nevedeli naplno vnímať a prežívať krásu života, blaženosť i bôľ lásky a krutú nevyhnutnosť smrti.

long-standing form allows her to explore new emotional frequencies across a
range of subject matter. The book’s four sections—everyday life in Japan,
experiences in Morocco and Italy, her husband’s cancer diagnosis, and
reflections on the pandemic—reveal the preoccupations of a poet invested in

Stratený malý svet
Aj keď sa Zuzana Kuglerová v priebehu rokov zapísala do slovenskej literatúry predovšetkým ako autorka historickej fantasy a zberateľka povestí, trinástou komnatou jej vnútorného sveta, ktorú otvára iba málokedy, je poézia. Vracia sa k nej síce zriedkavo, ale v pravidelných intervaloch. Kuglerová sa nebojí tradičných foriem viazaného verša, má ich aj v tejto zbierke hojne zastúpené. Rovnako dobre sa však cíti aj vo voľnom verši. Nepotrebuje ekvibrilistiku ťažko uchopiteľných metafor, aby predostrela čitateľovi to, čo cíti a vníma. A vníma veľmi pozorne, až mikroskopicky. Preto v jej básnickej tvorbe nenájdeme sentiment spomienok, hoci pocit straty v nej pretrváva. Kuglerová však nestráca ani vieru ani nádej. Poďme sa teda pozrieť do jej veršov, či v nej nájdeme Stratený malý svet, odviaty rokmi.
Až si to přečtou
