V roce 2001 se legendární rocker Lou Reed ponořil do pochmurného světa jednoho ze svých duchovních předchůdců, Edgara Allena Poea, aby posléze vytvořil podnětné a originální dílo: POE-Try, cyklus písní, jejichž divadelní podobu později režíroval slavný Robert Wilson. Písně vyšly v roce 2003 na kompaktním dvojdisku pod názvem Raven (Havran).Lou Reeda napadlo vydat texty písní, obohacené ilustracemi, knižně. Vybral si grafika a komiksového kreslíře Lorenza Mattottiho (*1954). Výsledkem je kniha The Raven (Le corbeau), kterou vydalo francouzské nakladatelství Seuil (2010).Obrazový doprovod tvoří expresivní ilustrace, které nezobrazují vnější realitu, ale pocity, duševní stavy, frustrace, jak je pro Mattottiho obvyklé. První kniha Boba Dylana od jeho memoárů nazvaných Kroniky I a vydaných v roce 2004 a zároveň i jeho první kniha od získání Nobelovy ceny za literaturu v roce 2016. V šestašedesáti koncentrovaných textech píše Dylan o skladbách jiných umělců, Little Richardem či Rayem Charlesem počínaje, Ninou Simone či The Clash konče, přičemž se od triviálních konstatování a dylanovsky poťouchlých žertíků odráží k zásadním postřehům o povaze populární hudby. Analyzuje to, čemu říká past jednoduchých rýmů, rozebírá, jak přidání jediné slabiky může píseň oslabit, a dokonce vysvětluje, jak bluegrass souvisí s heavy metalem. Jeho psaní je tajuplné, rtuťovité, místy neproniknutelné a často nesmírně vtipné, a třebaže zdánlivě pojednává jen o hudbě, nabízí vlastně pronikavé zamyšlení o stavu člověka.

Arnold Peter Weisz - Kubínčan: Hľadanie identity
Hľadanie identity: Arnold Peter Weisz-Kubínčan (1898 1944) je predstaviteľom slovenského netradičného žánrového maliarstva medzivojnového obdobia. Jeho tvorba sa formovala na základe expresionistickej maľby a motivicky vychádzala predovšetkým zo slovenskej reality Oravy, Liptova a Turca. Jeho život sprevádzal neustály vnútorný nepokoj, ktorý sa prejavil v neprestajnom hľadaní vlastnej identity. Do jeho života výrazne zasiahli historické udalosti prvej polovice 20. storočia, ktoré do veľkej miery spečatili aj jeho osud.

Výpravná umělecká monografie Félicien Rops: enfant terrible dekadence je první původní českou monografií věnovanou životu a tvorbě jednoho z hlavních představitelů evropské výtvarné dekadence a symbolismu, která ho zasazuje do kontextu těchto hnutí. Entering Jaroslav Róna’s imaginary world and discovering his inner artistic dreams will help us understand the artist’s goals and decipher the wide repertoire of motifs in his works. In his works, Róna intentionally reflects the social, cultural and political context and addresses to key artistic personalities, contemporary trends and tendencies as well as the current art scene. Sochař pohybu Zdeněk Němeček
Zdeněk Němeček patří nejen ve své generaci k ojedinělým osobnostem. Jeho vytrvalý zájem o tématiku sportu nemá téměř srovnání a počet jeho realizací také ne. Získával zakázky na sochařskou výzdobu sportovních stadionů po celém světě, ty byly často přestaveny před vrcholnými sportovními akcemi typu olympijských her (Mexico City, Mnichov, Sapporo, Milán, Moskva, Tallinn, Sarajevo…). Jeho sochy můžeme vidět např. i před hokejovou arénou v Holešovicích nebo basketbalovou na Folimance.
Rostislav Košťál: Fotografie 1963 – 2023
Rostislav Košťál patří k nejvýraznějším českým fotografům uplynulého půlstoletí, ačkoliv se fotografií nikdy neživil. Hvězdný start zažil jako člen skupiny Epos (s J. Horákem, F. Maršálkem a P. Sikulou), která na počátku normalizace udala styl české inscenované fotografii, nasáklé elegickou dobou. Od roku 1975 byl členem další fotogra?cké „super-skupiny“ Setkání, v níž se kolem Tarase Kuščynského sdružily nejvýraznější osobnosti poetizující fotogra?e. Koncem sedmdesátých let se Košťálova tvorba zcela přiklání k exteriérovému aktu, který nabývá stále silnější dynamiky, své modelky postupně zbavuje pevné identity, aby z nich zachovával jen obrys, tvar, neostrý vjem, vrcholící v soboru Tempi. Od devadesátých let se pak Košťál neustále vrací fotografovat na známá místa s novými modelkami, aby tím opěvoval jejich vzájemně rezonující krásu.
Tato obsáhlá jubilejní publikace shrnuje Košťálovu tvorbu od počátků až do současnosti s doprovodem textů jeho souputníků, přátel i odborníků a ukazuje jeho celoživotní hluboký zájem o téma ženy a krajiny, kterým ovlivnil několik generací fotografů i diváků.

Through his photography project, Mabillard is supporting the NGO Fondation Moi pour Toit in Colombia.

Paper engineer and artist Matthew Shlian has always recognized the material’s potential for experimentation. Folded, tessellated, compressed, extrapolated, two-dimensional paper becomes three-dimensional sculpture in beautiful and unexpected ways.
‘My process is extremely varied from piece to piece. Often I start without a clear goal in mind, working within a series of limitations. For example on one piece I’ll only use curved folds, or make my lines this length or that angle, etc. Other times I begin with an idea for movement and try to achieve that shape or form somehow.’
Unfolding is Shlian’s first comprehensive monograph. A journey into the new possibilities of folding technology, the intricate complexities of Islamic patterns, and the sheer potential offered by a sheet of white paper, it celebrates a humble material, on the edge of its existence, elevated to timeless form and possibility.

Nancy Holt: Inside/Outside takes a journey through the artist’s key experiments in visual art presenting works never seen before, commissioning new critical thinking, and amplifying knowledge of an artist whose ideas are fundamental to how we define art today. Over the course of fifty years, Nancy Holt’s rich output spanned concrete poetry, audio, film and video, photography, drawings, room-sized installations, earthworks, and public sculpture. Nancy Holt: Inside/Outside details her unique and significant contributions, situating an important female voice within the narratives of land art and conceptual art.
Initiating her art practice in 1966 with concrete poetry, she soon expanded her ideas into other media and the landscape. Through each of the mediums she worked in, Holt explored how we understand our place in the world by investigating perception and site within and outside of traditional museum contexts.
In the mid-1970s Holt completed her most influential earthwork, Sun Tunnels, an artwork central to the definition of land art. Rigorous documentation of Holt’s work, as well as contributions by key scholars, previously unseen photoworks and drawings, and a revealing, never-before-published “self-interview” by the artist bring her work into far fuller context. Developed in close consultation with Holt/Smithson Foundation, an artist endowed organization dedicated to preserving and extending the work of Nancy Holt and her husband Robert Smithson, this expansive publication will serve as a major contribution to the critical ongoing research into the art of our time.
This new book is published to coincide with an exhibition anchored at Bildmuseet in Umea, Sweden, and traveling to MACBA Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona and further internationally.
