Michal Jupp Konečný (* 6. 8. 1942 v Praze) byl téměř u všeho, co v minulém půlstoletí hýbalo naší folkovou a country muzikou. Stál u zrodu a fungování devatenácti rozhodujících ročníků festivalu Porta (1971-1989), téměř dvaceti svojšických Slunovratů i Letorostů, řady strážnických Zahrad, čtyřiadvaceti Folkových růží a mnoha dalších. V sedmdesátých letech vedl Malostranskou besedu v Praze, v letech osmdesátých vytvořil z klubu Na Petynce nepřehlédnutelnou nejen trampskou a folkovou scénu, po roce 1989 založil a vedl jednadvacet ročníků časopisu FOLK & COUNTRY. Jiří Černý o něm napsal: Juppa dělá Juppem otevřenost vůči všem žánrům včetně tekutin, umění odejít a vůbec nepředpojatost, buldočí nápor v hlavních věcech a flegmatičnost v těch, co mu připadají vedlejší Jenom rodina Konečných ví, kolik hodin, nervů i únavných vyjednávání stojí za každým koncertem nebo festivalem. Tato kniha není dějinami českého folku, natož Juppovým slovníkem naučným. Autor se v ní úspěšně pokusil o skládačku událostí, setkání, postřehů a střípků, které se prolínaly desítkami let. Je to knížka o muzice, o době, o životě a světě kolem. O úspěších i zakopnutích, o neústupnosti i kompromisech. O nasranostech i nádherných zážitcích. A o lidech, se kterými mu bylo dobře, a jiných, se kterými bylo hůř.
