Michael Kenna
At age eleven, Michael Kenna developed his first roll of black and white film in a makeshift darkroom at St. Joseph's College, Upholland, the seminary he attended with the idea of becoming a Catholic priest. Kenna abandoned his religious calling after leaving the seminary, but his experiences there have continued to inform his work for decades. These gorgeous, meditative photographs were taken when Kenna returned to visit the now-shuttered school in the early 2000s. All of the qualities that make Kenna's work so appealing and evocative are here-richly nuanced tones, studies in contrast, his ability to transform the ordinary into something extraordinary. But Kenna is also revisiting a way of life that may be disappearing-not only the, at times, ruthless discipline of the British boarding school, but also the somber beauty of religious practice. Tři roky pracovali autoři na tomto příběhu, který vezme čtenáře na cestu přes tři desetiletí historie legendární black metalové skupiny Rotting Christ. Téměř 300 stránek a více než 170 snímků, z nichž mnohé dosud nebyly publikovány, vytvořili zakladatel a frontman kapely Sakis Tolis spolu s britským publicistou Dayalem Pattersonem. Kromě samotné brutálně upřímné Sakisovy zpovědi obsahuje kniha rozsáhlé glosy jeho bratra Themise (ten během existence kapely nikdy neposkytl rozhovory žádnému médiu) a ke slovu se dostali jak současní, tak bývalí členové kapely, například spoluzakladatel Jim Mutilator, Morbid, George Tolias, Van Ace a George Emmanuel.

Monografie uvádí do rozsáhlého díla Jana Stolína, dlouhodobě se zabývajícího instalacemi v galerijním prostoru i venkovním prostředí, jednoduchými trojrozměrnými tělesy, obohacenými o ventilátory, a kresbami pastelem. Již během studia na Vysoké uměleckoprůmyslové škole v Praze na počátku devadesátých let vytvořil Stolín ojedinělé minimalistické objekty, jež předznamenaly pozdější průniky za dané a pevné formy. Roky ve výloze
Výkladní skříně v období socialistického Československa nesloužily jen k propagaci zboží, ale byly též jedním z kanálů politické propagandy a osvěty, vybízející k zdravějšímu životnímu stylu, spořivosti nebo pracovní morálce. Široce založený vzdělávací systém produkoval profesionální aranžéry v učebních oborech a na středních uměleckoprůmyslových i vysokých uměleckých školách. Propagační praxe probíhala v síti aranžérských středisek velkých podniků typu Pramen nebo Český svaz spotřebních družstev; vlastní aranžérny s mnoha zaměstnanci měly i obchodní domy. Větší celostátní propagační akce řídil reklamní podnik Merkur, který také realizoval velké výstavy a vyráběl propagační pomůcky, jež si objednávali aranžéři z celé republiky. Konaly se také soutěže tematických výkladních skříní a od roku 1969 i soutěžní bienále aranžérské tvorby ARBIEN.
Katalog vydala Galerie výtvarného umění v Chebu ke stejnojmenné výstavě pořádané v termínu 16. února 5. září 2021 v Retromuseu Cheb.
