Podnětem ke vzniku této knihy, která dalece přesahuje obvyklé pojetí katalogu, byla výstava v Liberci v roce 2024 kurátorovaná Luďkem Lukuvkou. Z iniciačního setkání vznikla nakonec odvážná přehlídka malby, kresby a osobité animace, namísto plánované typografie. František Štorm (*1966) patří k předním světovým typografům-tvůrcům písma. Paralelně s jeho dlouholetým působením na poli užité grafiky vznikala vždy volná tvorba, zejména linoryty a kresby, ale v posledních letech také malby větších formátů. Kniha Libero zachycuje Štormovo tvůrčí vzepětí posledních let, ve kterém přirozené koexistují grafický design, knižní ilustrace a zakázky s volnou tvorbou. Garlatyová) a bohatého vizuálneho materiálu zahŕňajúceho tvorbu autorov aj samotnú výstavu, mapoval príbuznú poetiku tvorby dvoch ťažiskových osobností domácej výtvarnej scény, ktorých tvorba je dnes uzavretá, avšak otvorená pre ďalší výskum a nové interpretácie. Dějiny houslového umění
Housle jako vedoucí člen skupiny smyčcových nástrojů měly v dějinách hudby mnoho funkcí. Tato publikace je zaměřena na jejich roli sólového nástroje, jednak v instrumentálních koncertech, jednak v četných skladbách s partnerskou účastí většinou klávesového nástroje nebo bez doprovodu. Výklad sleduje houslovou tvorbu od počátků v raném baroku ve všech významných vývojových proudech a provenien¬cích. Věnuje adekvátní prostor tvorbě prvních velkých houslistů, zvláštní pozornost samozřejmě soustředí na velké barokní syntetiky Bacha a Händela, na představitele vídeňského klasicismu, kteří dovedli žánr až na práh romantismu, a na klíčový zjev houslového génia Niccola Paganiniho. Ani u pozdějšího vývoje autor vedle skladatelů, kteří dospěli ke svrchované syntéze sólových houslí s orchestrální či klavírní složkou, nezanedbává bohatou tvorbu komponujících virtuosů přispívajících hlavně k využívání technických možností nástroje. V dílech 20. století nejrůznějších stylů včetně neofolkorismu, neoklasicismu, Nové věcnosti a expresionismu si zvláště všímá integrace sólového partu jako dosavadního vyvrcholení houslové tvorby. Sleduje rovněž hlavní proudy druhé poloviny 20. století od serialismu přes tzv. Novou hudbu a minimalismus až po postmoderní neoromantické tendence. Přehlednost a komplexnost výkladu a množství názorných notových příkladů činí z této publikace užitečného průvodce houslovou tvorbou pro široké spektrum hudebních zájemců.

Never before translated into English, Bruno Munari’s Fantasy, originally published in Italian in 1977, invites the reader to explore their own imagination, creativity and fantasy through a journey into Munari’s mind and work. His theory of creativity, developed in conversation with the Reggio Emilia Approach (a self-guided approach to education) and the work of Jean Piaget (a Swiss developmental psychologist who proffered a theory termed “genetic epistemology”) foregrounds the book’s journey through Munari’s design processes, both working for clients and teaching design principles to children. By turning both life and work into a classroom, Munari unlocks a path through imagination in order to access his, and in turn the reader’s, deepest sense of play.
The facsimile reprint is accompanied by new contextual annotations by Munari scholar and design historian Jeffrey Schnapp. These microinterventions highlight the innovations that make this work as relevant today as when originally published.
Bruno Munari (1907–98) was an Italian artist, designer and inventor who contributed fundamentals to many fields of visual arts (painting, sculpture, film, industrial design, graphic design) in Modernism, Futurism and Concrete art, as well as to nonvisual arts (literature, poetry) through his research on games, didactic method, movement, tactile learning, kinesthetic learning and creativity.

Joaquin Sorolla
The Spanish painter Joaquin Sorolla y Bastida (1863-1923) understood like no other of his time how to encompass the light of the South in color and to capture the fleeting moment in his own special way with light-dark contrasts as well as modern color compositions. He was a passionate artist and loving family man. He often painted outdoors until he was physically exhausted, in order to depict the full beauty of nature with all its light conditions. Joy and sorrow often lay close together. Nevertheless, the profession of an artist was the only real choice for him: orphaned at the age of two, he was to become a locksmith like his foster father—but when Sorolla's drawing talent came to light, he was allowed to attend the drawing class at the School of Arts and Crafts and later the Academy of Fine Arts in Valencia. Again and again he traveled through Europe, he studied in Rome and experienced the zeitgeist of the Parisian impressionist scene. Initially, he painted socially critical everyday scenes and historical themes in muted colors, but his color palette and content brightened over time. With sun-flooded paintings he left his mark on Spanish Impressionism and impressed contemporaries such as for example Claude Monet (1840-1926). From 1911 onwards, he put all his energy into the ambitious commission of the Hispanic Society of America, which envisaged presenting Spain in 14 large-format paintings. In doing so, he placed his own artistic development behind the service of his fatherland. He painted the Vision of Spain for eight years and suffered a stroke in 1919, shortly after completion. Sorolla was one of the most important and commercially successful artists of the turn of the century.
