Šperk a figura
Šperk patří k lidskému bytí od pravěku a stejně tak dlouho velkým tématem autorů šperku zůstává člověk a jeho zobrazení. Figurální kvalita šperku přitom nepatří ke konstantám. Někteří diváci ji přijímají, jiní jen připouštějí, ostatní nikoli. Kniha Šperk a figura představuje téměř tři sta šperkových děl z bohaté sbírky Uměleckoprůmyslového musea v Praze (UPM), podpořených ukázkami z tuzemských i zahraničních muzeí a soukromých rukou. Prezentuje je v tematických či formálních souvislostech. Pravěká i historická díla vyprávějí v konfrontaci se současným šperkem příběhy skutečných a fantazijních světů. Miniaturní figury v knize střídají podání v reálné lidské velikosti i zásadním zvětšení, kdy struktury těla splývají s modely atomů, molekul i vesmírných celků. Šperk a figura navazuje na knihu Šperk – forma – obsah, která pod hlavičkou UPM vyšla v roce 2023 (v anglické verzi v roce 2024).
Život umenia
Bojana Kunst je filozofka, dramatička a teoretička súčasného scénického umenia. Od roku 2012 je profesorkou na Inštitúte aplikovaných divadelných vied na Univerzite Justusa Liebiga v Gießene, kde vedie medzinárodný magisterský program Choreografia a performance. Po doktorandskom štúdiu estetiky bola postdoktorandkou na Univerzite v Ľubľane a na Univerzite v Antverpách a bola aj hosťujúcou profesorkou na Univerzite v Hamburgu. Jej výskum je zameraný najmä na prelínanie poetických a politických tvorivých procesov v tanci, performance a vizuálnom umení. Vo svojich dielach spája filozofickú reflexiu, praktické dramaturgické a umelecko-výskumné skúsenosti a teóriu umenia.
Petr Císařovský: Sedm bran / The Seven Gates
Kniha zachycující příběh pozoruhodného projektu sochaře a kováře Petra Císařovského, sestává ze dvou částí.
Iniciační projekt, nazvaný Sedm bran se odvíjí od počátku 90. let minulého století a základem se stala realizace brány sv. Františka, která symbolicky otevírá nejen františkánský areál uprostřed Prahy, ale i duchovní centrum města, založené císařem Karlem IV. Během času přibyla v protilehlém koutě zahrady brána sv. Anežky České. Vznikla tak díla výtvarně a ideově navázaná na genia loci daného místa. V průběhu let se zrodil nápad na vymezení celého prostoru zahrady. Výsledkem se stal projekt, který symbolicky navazuje na snahu Karla IV. vytvořit v daném místě novou korunovační katedrálu, ze zahrady by tak vznikl „Chrám pod širým nebem“. V první části knihy autor blíže seznamuje s realizacemi svých bran i mimo tento projekt.
Tvorba sochaře a kováře Petra Císařovského (* 1950) představuje unikátní syntézu sochařského citu a dokonale zvládnutého řemesla. V oblasti kované plastiky se řadí k našim nejvýraznějším tvůrcům; dokáže propojit tradiční postupy zpracování železa se současným pohledem na svět. Jeho díla nesou silný duchovní náboj a tichou reflexi lidského bytí.
The Seven Gates of Petr Císařovský
The present book, presenting the story of this fascinating project by sculptor and blacksmith Petr Císařovský, is composed of two parts. The initiatory project, entitled “Seven Gates” (Sedm bran) began to emerge from the start of the 1990s, originating from the realization of the St. Francis Gate – symbolically opening not only the Franciscan monastic complex in the historic core of Prague, but equally a spiritual centre of the city itself, founded by Emperor Charles IV. Later, in the opposite corner of the garden, another gate was raised, the St. Agnes of Bohemia Gate, resulting in two works that form both artistic and intellectual links to the genius loci of the given site.
Over time, the idea emerged of outlining the entire space of the garden. The result became a project making symbolic reference to the medieval plans of Charles IV to raise a new coronation cathedral on the site; the contemporary intervention, in turn, transforming the garden into a “sacred space in the open air”. In the first part of the book, the author presents in greater detail the realizations of his gates not connected to the central project.
The work of sculptor and artistic blacksmith Petr Císařovský (* 1950) represents a unique synthesis of refined sculptural sensibility with exceptional skill in craftsmanship. In the area of wrought-iron sculpture, he ranks among the most prominent Czech creators, able to combine traditional metalworking procedures with a contemporary view of the world. His artworks are the bearers of a strong spiritual charge and a quiet reflection of human existence.

Publikácia prináša komplexný pohľad na tvorbu jednej z najosobitejších maliarok súčasnej slovenskej scény. V ôsmich kapitolách mapuje jej dielo od roku 2013 a sleduje vývoj autorky, ktorá vo svojej maľbe prepája intuitívny a spontánny prejav s expresívnym rukopisom a bohatým kolorizmom. Jej tvorbu dlhodobo formoval pohyb – cestovanie, rezidenčné pobyty a putovanie krajinou. V posledných rokoch sa jej pozornosť sústreďuje na bezprostredné prostredie, na skúmanie botanických, kultúrnych a historických vrstiev krajiny a na maľbu ako spôsob intenzívneho, osobného prežívania sveta.

Neutra. 45th Ed
Originally from Vienna, Richard Neutra came to America early in his career, settling in California. His influence on postwar architecture is undisputed, the sunny climate and rich landscape being particularly suited to his cool, sleek modern style.
Neutra had a keen appreciation for the relationship between people and nature; his trademark plate glass walls and ceilings which turn into deep overhangs have the effect of connecting the indoors with the outdoors. His ability to incorporate technology, aesthetics, science, and nature into his designs brought him to the forefront of Modernist architecture.

Dandy – aristokrat ducha a vkusu
Dandy – slovo a fenomén, ktorý takmer každý pozná, no málokto ho vie exaktne zadefinovať. Spoločným menovateľom dandyov je koncept života postavený na revolte proti všednosti, na elegancii a estétstve, ktoré spisovatelia v priebehu 19. storočia rozšírili aj do duchovnej roviny. Kniha prináša do slovenského prostredia reflexiu príbehu dandyzmu na príkladoch unikátnych literárnych tvorcov a postáv umenia – dandyov, ktorých zlatou érou bolo obdobie od počiatkov romantizmu po obdobie fin-de-si?cle. Autor sa zameriava na významných predstaviteľov a spisovateľov dandyzmu v jeho umeleckom variante v európskom a stredoeurópskom kontexte (Stendhal, Byron, Balzac, d’Aurevilly, Baudelaire, Wilde, Breisky, Altenberg a ďalší) a hľadá prejavy dandyzmu u slovenských umelcov z radov spisovateľov (Hviezdoslav, Jesenský, Mitrovský, Gašpar, Bohúň, Gregor a ďalší).
Niki de Saint Phalle
Niki de Saint Phalle loved pseudo-orders, which she used to arbitrarily assemble terms and pictograms on a sheet of paper. Under the heading "I Love," for example, the sign of a snake could be found next to the emblem for justice, an orange spot for the corresponding color next to two stars as a symbol for astrology. Niki de Saint Phalle A-Z takes the same liberty and puts the many facets of Niki de Saint Phalle's work into the order of the alphabet.
This logical order is deceptive, though. From A as in AIDS to Z as in Zurich Angel, from B as in Bride to V as in Vanitas, a mosaic of concepts emerges that filters out the various levels of meaning in her manifold oeuvre and playfully engages them in mutual commentary.

Mezi kýčem a akademií
Chromolitografie byla v době své slávy v druhé polovině 19. století exkluzivní a náročnou technikou vícebarevného soutisku, využívajícího principu sčítání barev a optického efektu tiskového bodu. Její role se však v průběhu vývoje proměňovala od reprodukční techniky s ambicemi takřka imitovat malířská díla, přes využití jako svébytného média na poli reklamy až po ryze služebnou funkci v exaktní vědecké ilustraci nebo v podobě často esteticky pokleslých užitkových merkantilních tisků, které chromolitografii přinesly pejorativně vnímané označení barvotisk. Právě tento aspekt v umělecko-historických disciplínách na dlouhou dobu neprávem deklasoval výjimečná díla, zejména reklamní plakáty, ale i diplomy, či kalendáře, která touto náročnou technikou vznikla.

Minka.Vilemína Podhajská (1881-1963)
Osobnost Minky Podhajské zůstávala doposud mimo hlavní zájem o výtvarnou tvorbu žen počátku 20. století, možná i proto, že polovinu života prožila ve Vídni, kde se narodila a získala výtvarné vzdělání. její umělecké schopnosti zahrnovaly širokou škálu: byla malířkou, kreslířkou, ilustrátorkou hraček, návrhářkou keramických souprav - zkoušela všechno, co nejprve škola a později praxe poskytovala. Dcera českých rodičů mluvila česky, německy, francouzsky, anglicky, hrála ochotnické divadlo, zpívala, milovala cestování. První světovou válku prožila ještě ve Vídni a záhy po jejím skončení, po rozpadu Rakouska-Uherska, odešla do Prahy. Minka Podhajská spojovala dva světy - vídeňský a český: ještě v době, kdy žila ve Vídni, se aktivně zapojovala i do dění na české scéně, pracovala pro Artěl a Hořické hračkářské družstvo. Po svém přestěhování do Československa se stala profesorkou, profesionálně se věnovala návrhářství hraček a malbě. Byla komplexní umělkyní, schopnou pracovat v mnoha oborech.
