Frida Kahlo, Paintings

Publikace Chtěl_a jsem další zkušenost zhodnocuje desetiletí fungování Ateliéru hostujícího umělce na AVU. Tímto specializovaným pracovištěm akademie prošli významný umělci a umělkyně střední a mladší generace.
Kniha představuje jednotlivé semestrální projekty a relevantní texty z již publikovaných katalogů (od autorů nebo přizvaných teoretiků), medailony umělců, kteří v daném období ateliér vedli a studentskou reflexi, zpracovanou formou rozhovorů. Její součástí jsou také dva teoretické příspěvky, které se zabývají obecnějšími problémy uměleckého vzdělávání a ukazují konkrétní genealogii Šalounova ateliéru. Kniha odhaluje různé perspektivy a pohledy na takto specifickou a ojedinělou vzdělávací platformu uvnitř vysoké umělecké školy.

Text Vladislavy Fekete detailne prezentuje a prehľadne sumarizuje všetky významné ukončené i prebiehajúce národné a medzinárodné projekty a ich výsledky. Divadelný ústav plní niekoľko nezastupiteľných úloh v oblasti mapovania a výskumu profesionálnej divadelnej kultúry na Slovensku. Základné odborné činnosti sú zamerané najmä na odborné činnosti súvisiace s divadelnou kultúrou na Slovensku a smerom do zahraničia (dokumentačné, archivačné, knižničné, múzejné, vzdelávacie, informačné, edičné, výstavné, prezentačné a pod.). Dôležité však je, že inštitúcia sa neuzatvára do svojej muzeálno-dokumentačnej funkcie, ale citlivo reaguje na súčasný stav divadelnej kultúry na Slovensku a v zahraničí.
Sochařské Brno 1989–2019

Masarykova univerzita vydala pod záštitou paní primátorky JUDr. Markéty Vaňkové a pana rektora prof. MUDr. Martina Bareše, Ph.D., druhé doplněné vydání česko-anglické knihy Sochařské Brno 1989-2019. První kapitola představuje cyklus Sochy pro Brno (sochy věnované osobnostem spjatým s dějinami města, jako např. W. A. Mozart, J. Skácel, T. A. Edison aj.). Druhá kapitola přibližuje sochy v areálech Masarykovy univerzity, třetí dokumentuje sochařská sympozia a čtvrtá připomíná mezinárodní přehlídku Brno Art Open / Sochy v ulicích. Nová kapitola nazvaná Čím se provinilo město se zamýšlí nad nesnadnou úlohou vedení města při podpoře sochařského umění.
Kniha v reprezentativní grafické úpravě představuje na 290 stranách 179 fotografií celkem 130 děl a 100 stručných medailonů sochařek a sochařů. Na schematické mapě ukazuje rozmístění soch. První vydání ze září 2019 bylo již na jaře 2020 vyprodáno.

Beethovent hallani
Mindannyiunknak ismerős a kép a szenvedélyes, komor Beethovenről, aki elszántan küzdött, hogy felülkerekedjen a siketségen, aki hallása elvesztése után is több mint egy évtizeden át folytatta a zenélést és a komponálást. Ezt általában emberfeletti hősiességnek tekintjük, de az igazság az, hogy Beethovennek a siketségre adott válasza nagyon is emberi.
És azzal, hogy demisztifikáljuk a tetteit, sokat tanulhatunk Beethoven zenéjéről. Ballet
Following his career-spanning monograph The Big Picture, Arthur Elgort pays homage to his first love and eternal muse in this new collection of photographs. Cuba: Music and Revolution

The first ever book about Cuban record sleeve design, compiled by Gilles Peterson and Stuart Baker, Cuba: Music and Revolution features hundreds of rarely seen vinyl records from the start of the Cuban Revolution at the beginning of the 1960s up until 1985, when Cuba's Special Period, brought about by the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the withdrawal of Russia's financial support for the Cuban government, led to the demise of vinyl-record manufacturing in Cuba. The artwork here reflects both the cultural and musical depth of Cuba as well as the political influence of revolutionary communism. Over the past century, Cuban music has produced a seemingly endless variety of styles--rumba, mambo, son, salsa--at a dizzyingly fast rate. Since the 1940s a steady stream of Cuban musicians has also made the migration to the US, sparking changes in North American musical forms: bandleader Machito set New York's jazz and Latin scene on fire, and master drummer Chano Pozo's entry into Dizzy Gillespie's group led to the birth of Latin jazz, to name just two. After the Cuban Revolution in 1959, the new government closed American-owned nightclubs and consolidated the island's recording industry under a state-run monopoly. Out of this new socialist agenda came new musical styles, including the Nueva Trova movement of left-wing songwriters. The 1980s saw more experimentation in modernist jazz, salsa and Afro-Cuban folkloric music.
