Kolektivní monografie Film a dějiny 6. Postkomunismus postihuje vybraná témata spojená s proměnou žánru historického filmu a televizního seriálu a jeho společenskou reflexí po roce 1989. Jednotlivé studie se zaměřují na prvky ostalgie a postkomunismu, ideovou revizi pohledu na české dějiny, návaznost na tvorbu šedesátých let a přetrvávající schémata z období normalizace, proměnu filmového stylu a narace, přesun témat od velké historie k osobní a rodinné historii.
Po roce 1989 přestala existovat cenzura, byl zrušen státní monopol, výroba přešla do soukromých produkcí, prezentovaná ideová východiska se stala soukromou záležitostí tvůrců. Studio 44 Architects is one of the largest private architectural firms in St Petersburg and in Russia. Founded in 1991 and led by Nikita Yavein, the company now employs over 140 highly qualified specialists, including architects, restoration experts, structural designers and engineers. Studio 44 has won over sixty prestigious awards and implemented over twenty-five public and residential building projects, including Ladozhsky Railway Station, the Atrium Business Centre at Nevsky 25, Nevsky 38 and Linkor business centres, the Grand Palace shopping gallery, the Novy Peterhof hotel and the Boris Eifman Dance Academy in St Petersburg; the Palace of Schoolchildren in Astana (Kazakhstan); and the Olympic Park Railway Station in Sochi. Katalóg výstavy na pôde Galérie umenia Ernesta Zmetáka v Nových Zámkoch, ktorá trvala od 26. 1. do 18. 3. 2017. Bolo predstavených 35 olejomalieb zo 17. až 19. storočia z daru Ernesta a Danice Zmetákovcov. Viaceré sú vystavené po prvý raz, niektoré neboli publikované: napríklad Smrť sv. Alexia z Edessy, potréty baróna Splényiho a jeho manželky, maďarského básnika a dramatika Mihálya Vörösmartyho, grófa Mihálya Esterházyho, grófky Henriety Erdödyovej. Podarilo sa presne identifikovať dobové kópie diel Clauda Jospeha Verneta a Johanna Carla Lotha. Diela Johanna Lucasa Krackera a Jana de Mompera boli nedávno zreštaurované.
Noteboom
Katalóg k retrospektívnej výstave s názvom Noteboom, ktorá sa konala na pôde Galérie umenia Ernesta Zmetáka v Nových Zámkoch v čase od 20. 5. do 19. 6. 2010. Milota Havránková je poprednou predstaviteľkou súčasnej slovenskej fotografie. Publikácia je prierezom jej tvorby z rokov 1965–2009. Od nástupu na umeleckú scénu je jej tvorba výnimočná v odlišnosti výtvarného jazyka od aktuálnych trendov. Rezignuje na priamu fotografiu a jej doménou je inscenovaná a manipulovaná fotografia. Hľadá nové možnosti fotografie, nové výrazové prostriedky, presahy do iných médií, technológie spracovania i transformovanie fotografie do netradičných materiálov.

Technika môjho hudobného jazyka
Slovenskej hudobnej obci predkladáme kľúčové teoretické dielo skladateľa Oliviera Messiaena Technique de mon langage musical. Technika môjho hudobného jazyka je dielom 33-ročného Messiaena (dokončil ju v lete 1942 a tlačou vyšla o dva roky neskôr). Pokrýva preto len necelú tretinu skladateľovho odkazu a celkom prirodzene v nej absentujú tie charakteristické prvky, ktoré sa v jeho hudobnom jazyku vykryštalizovali až neskôr. Skladateľove najhranejšie diela (L’Ascension, La Nativité du Seigneur, Quatuor pour la fin du Temps, Visions de l’Amen, Vingt Regards sur l’Enfant Jésus, Turangalîla-Symphonie a i.) však pochádzajú práve z 30. a 40. rokov, čiže z obdobia, ktoré Technika môjho hudobného jazyka pokrýva viac než uspokojivo. Dúfame, že slovenský preklad Techniky poslúži skladateľom a interpretom nielen ako kľúč k pochopeniu Messiaenovho hudobného jazyka, ale prispeje i k hlbšiemu poznaniu autorovho jedinečného postavenia v hudobných dejinách 20. storočia.
Gauguin
Destination exoticPaul Gauguin's Pacific visions radiate with color and sunshine Paul Gauguin (1848-1903) was not cut out for finance. Nor did he last particularly long in the French Navy, or as a tarpaulin salesman in Copenhagen who did not speak Danish. He began painting in his spare time in 1873 and in 1876 took part in the Paris Salon. Three years later, he was exhibiting alongside Pissarro, Degas, and Monet. A querulous, hard-drinking individual, Gauguin often called himself a savage. His close but fraught friendship with the similarly temperamental Vincent van Gogh climaxed in a violent incident in 1888, when Van Gogh purportedly confronted Gauguin with a razor blade, and later cut off his own ear. Shortly afterwards, following the completion of a midcareer masterpiece Vision After the Sermon (1888), Gauguin took himself to Tahiti, with the intention of escaping "everything that is artificial and conventional..." On Tahiti, Gauguin's unfettered joy in the island's nature, native people, and figurative images leapt over a prolific output of paintings and prints. In works such as Woman with a Flower (Vahine no te Tiare, 1891) and Sacred Spring: Sweet Dreams (Nave Nave Moe, 1894), he developed a distinct, Primitivist style that positively oozed with sunshine and color. In the tradition of exotic sensuality, his thick, buttery lashings of paint lingered in particular over the curves of Tahitian women. Gauguin died alone, on Tahiti's neighboring Marquesas Islands, with many of his personal papers and belongings dispersed in a local auction. It was not until a smart art dealer began curating and showing Gauguin's work in Paris that the artist's profound influence began making itself felt, especially to the new breed of French avant-garde artists, such as Picasso and Matisse. Hippolyt Soběslav Pinkas
Hippolyt Soběslav Pinkas (1827–1901) byl jedním z prvních „českých Pařížanů“, který prožil část svého uměleckého života ve Francii. Studoval malbu v ateliéru Thomase Coutura ve stejné době jako Édouard Manet, s nímž ho spojoval zájem o realitu a nekonvenčnost. Krajinářské náměty Pinkas hledal ve fontainebleauském lese, kde se dostal do okruhu předních francouzských malířů později nazývaných jako barbizonská škola (Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot, Jean-François Millet). Tato kniha poprvé komplexně pojednává o Pinkasově díle v kontextu francouzského malířství a sleduje umělcovu tvorbu od karikatur z revolučních let 1848–1849 až po zásadní malby vystavované na pařížských Salonech. Zvláštní pozornost věnuje obrazu Pohřební řeč o oběšenci (někdy nazývaným Modlitba za oběšence), který je unikátní nejen svým námětem, ale i příběhem, jenž se začal psát několik let před jeho vznikem a pokračuje do současnosti. Publikace přibližuje také Pinkasovu účast na Salonu odmítnutých v roce 1863, kde se jeho Stařec a smrt ocitl ve společnosti Manetovy Snídaně v trávě (tehdy nazvané Koupání). Hippolyt Soběslav Pinkas patřil k malířům, kteří dokázali sledovat aktuální umělecké tendence (realismus), a přestože je dnes známější jeho vnuk Jiří Voskovec, náleží mu díky malířské tvorbě i posilování česko-francouzských vztahů významné místo v dějinách evropské kultury.

Revival Type
Revival Type is a collection of contemporary digital fonts with origins in the past. Examples include direct revivals of metal and wood typefaces, while others are looser interpretations of older typefaces. Among the fonts are interpretations of classic designs by Nicolas Jenson, Claude Garamont, Robert Granjon, William Caslon, John Baskerville, Giambattista Bodoni, Firmin Didot and other iconic names. Alongside them are typefaces rooted in the work of important, though lesser known, names such as Eudald Pradell, Philippe Grandjean and Richard Austin. Finally, there are updates and revisions of 20th-century classics like Palatino, Meridien, DIN, Metro and Neue Haas Grotesk (the original name of Helvetica). Some designs are not revivals of typefaces but of letterforms, from inscriptions to calligraphic manuals to letters in posters and bookjackets. Some revivals are aesthetic extensions of 20th-century typefaces that have been updated technologically. Others are actually reinterpretations or variations on typefaces from the past necessitated by having to make types that function in the 21st century and not in the distant past.
