This book draws upon the Magnum archive to present a celebration of the great photographers who have captured those most fugitive of moments in cycling: the personalities, emotions and human endurance. It is grouped into thematic chapters, with works by a range of photographers, showing carefully picture-edited images with discursive captions. In the late 1970s, the George Eastman House approached a group of photographers to ask for their favorite recipes and food-related photographs to go with them, in pursuit of publishing a cookbook. Playing off George Eastman’s own famous recipe for lemon meringue pie, as well as former director Beaumont Newhall’s love of food, the cookbook grew from the idea that photographers’ talent in the darkroom must also translate into special skills in the kitchen. Vzniká tak osobitá, barevně akcentovaná, syntéza postupů modernistických avantgard s postkonceptuálními malířskými trendy současnosti, která nabourává klasické vnímání malovaného obrazu.

David Hanvald (born 1980 in Liberec) is one of the most sought-after Czech artists of his generation. In his paintings, he reevaluates and works with the ideas, impulses, and work of 20th-century modern artists. The result is a distinctive and colorful synthesis of modernist avant-garde approaches with contemporary post-conceptual tendencies that breaks down the usual way we perceive the painted image. This monograph of Hanvald’s works from recent years provides evidence that the medium of painting has retained its currency, while also offering readers a sense of delight from creative artistic work.

Toiletpaper is an artists' magazine created and produced by Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari and born out of a shared passion for images. The magazine contains no text. Each picture springs from an idea, often simple, and through a complex orchestration of people it becomes the materialisation of the artists' mental outbursts. Since the first issue, in June 2010, Toiletpaper has created a world that displays ambiguous narratives and a troubling imagination.
