Santiago Calatrava

Vienna 1900 Complete

A multi-disciplinary environment emerged where music, writing and intellectual thought all flourished, often brought together in the capital's famous coffee houses. Rozsahem nevelká, ale obsahem nabitá a na nejvyšší technické úrovni zpracovaná publikace je příkladem atypické výtvarné monografie, která není jenom prezentací výtvarníka Petra Faltuse a jeho nejnovějších pastelů, ale doplněním o jedinečné texty Karla Steigerwalda se stává plnohodnotnou knihou určenou nejenom k pouhému prohlédnutí. Dílo vzniklo opačným postupem, než je obvyklé: nejdříve vzniklo 53 kreseb a až posléze je patafyzickými povídkami "ilustroval" či "animoval" autor textu. Kniha je živoucím organismem, její obsah se přelévá z roviny výtvarné do literární a zase zpět, jedno se navzájem doplňuje s druhým a příslibem neobyčejného zážitku je také hmatový prvek na obálce... Ale nejpodstatnějším aspektem, jenž autoři zdůrazňují při každé příležitosti, je ten, že kniha vznikala a mohla vzniknout pouze za předpokladu vzájemného a obohacujícícho přátelství všech zúčastněných i jejich partnerů, potomků a domácích či jiných zvířat.
