Motorizace armád se stala v meziválečném období významným modernizačním prvkem, který probíhal, dle ekonomických možností státu i v armádě československé. Domácí automobilky dodávaly vojenské správě automobily osobní, nákladní a speciální. V posledně jmenované kategorii dominovala firma Tatra, která z 660 v armádě zařazených speciálních automobilů dodala 399 kusů a s podílem 51,4% se stala v tomto segmentu vozů nejvýznamnější dodavatelem. Jednalo se především o vozidla typu Tatra T 24, T 25 a T 85, ale svůj nezanedbatelný podíl měl rovněž typ Tatra T 72. Na jeho šasi vznikla široká škála specializovaných nástaveb, které si zaslouží pro svoji pestrost a konstrukční variabilitu zdokumentování.

Při současné záplavě kuchařek na knihkupeckých pultech nás už ani nenapadne, jak dramatickou historii za sebou mohou mít a že bývaly doby, kdy se na ně „stály fronty jako za války na maso“. V prostředí centrálně řízeného knižního trhu poválečného Československa získaly soubory receptů zcela zvláštní status: přivlastnili si je odborníci na výživu a usilovali jejich prostřednictvím proměnit stravovací návyky socialistických pracujících v masovém měřítku. S tím jak na podzim 1940 odezněla letecká bitva o Británii, skončila rovněž jedna z nejdůležitějších kapitol v mimořádně bohaté historii Messerschmittu Bf 109E. Na „Emily“, nyní zastoupené především variantou Bf 109E-7, ovšem ve výzbroji Luftwaffe čekala ještě dlouhá kariéra. V této části série si přiblížíme nasazení německých stíhačů do bojů nad Maltou a nad severní Afrikou během Rommelova pokusu o ovládnutí obleženého přístavu Tobrúk na jaře roku 1941. O výsledku vzdušných bojů druhé světové války se ovšem nerozhodovalo pouze v kabinách stíhaček, nýbrž také v továrnách leteckého průmyslu. Proto zde shrneme produkci Messerschmittů Bf 109E během roku 1940 a porovnáme ji s výrobou stíhaček ve Spojeném království.
